Are they dated?

I was about to order some but someone said on another thread that they were no longer 'trendy' so now I'm not sure. ... I really want to embrace new trends a bit quicker - usually takes me a couple of years and by then things are not so 'in' anymore...

And if they are dated, please recommend me some nice ankle slim fitting trousers or jeans for spring (not boden bistro - i'm curvy and they're a terrible fit on me)

I am not sure if they are or not but I put my purple ones on this weekend and had to change after a few mins. I can't explain why but I definitely felt dated?!

Well, I saw pastel jeans all over the Levi shop this weekend (DH jean shopping hell), as well as other places and Uniqlo still has them, so I don't think they are especially dated.

I am not sure. Pastel colours are everywhere but I am not sure pastel jeans would be the most flattering regardless of whether they are in. Might try some to see though as I def can't wear pastels near my face.

If you like something, and it suits you, wear it. If you're concerned about being on trend, avoid Boden...

fashionable or not, I actually like those jeans OP. What shoes/boots will you wear with them though? I think that is important.

I personally don't really like purple anything. I wonder if it is purple that's no longer 'in' rather than coloured jeans necessarily? Maybe it's the colour that's in?

I don't even know why I am commenting though. I am the least fashionable person I know

Not claiming high fashion awareness either but not sure it's the purple. I have teal pair, cobalt pair and a green pair. All are about 4 years old and for some reason I started to dislike the look at the end of last summer. Maybe I've just got bored of them?

I have a green pair. Well khaki I guess. they are my favourite pair. I wear them with knee high fly boots and love them to bits. I can't get them any more and suspect it's because they are very Out of Date now

I would wear them with either loafers or ballet pumps.

I actuallly think the grey, khakis, etc are a lot more classic and therefore not dated, it's the bright blues, pinks, etc that I'm not sure about.... but I'm a winter and this are the colours that suit me...

Lol about avoiding Boden to be on trend! I disagree (for some things!); they have lots of plain stuff with trendy cuts and good quality which can be part of a trendy wardrobe. I just avoid anything with a pattern and get stuff that no one could guess is from there.

Too many 'trendys' on that post....

If you like them, buy them! I have some bright red and some bright green trousers from Gap in a similar style that I bought last summer- I fully intend to get them out again

I agree boden is fine if you choose carefully.

I have almost exactly the same ones in the same colour tugga - I bought them a few weeks ago and I love them .

But then I don't really care if something is 'in' or not - just if it suits me - and these do (I'm a Winter too so pastels do nothing for me).

I'm almost convinced . Might get them in white too as that's more classic

I wouldn't dare buy white trousers - it would take me about two seconds to mess them up...

white trousers? you have to like have no children anywhere near you, not be in london, or the countryside, or eat food, or drink coffee or anything else coloured (leaves mostly water and vodka), not use public transport or be in our car basically all you can do is sit at home and drink vodka then, but not so much that you pee yourself.

Lol about the white trousers. I've got some, also form boden, the straight leg jeans, and it's not so bad! Admittedly have to be washed after each wear but without the children and public transport do tend to last the day.

I think it's the teenager bright jeggings/ skinnies that are dated. They look ok to me.
Trouser wise. I am coveting 70s type slim flares in darkblue. Even though I am short and dumpy.

Those cobalt blue Boden skinnies are lovely in real life. I saw them at a Boden party and had a good feel. They'd look nice with metallic gold sandals in summer.
