How to 'fix' eyebrows?

A bit of a weird problem here, and I just wondered if anyone has the same and what the solution is (if any!).

Some of my eyebrow hairs naturally slant downwards which make my eyebrows look messy. I have tried to keep them in place with clear mascara (and even hairspray sprayed onto an old clean mascara brush) but the offending hairs always end up pointing downwards again after a short time - which looks really untidy. This is compounded by the fact that I have a side-swept fringe which lies on my right eyebrow and pushes it down.

I use Benefit's BrowZings to shape my eyebrows and fill in the blanks, but this doesn't hold them in place (and my fringe rubs the colour off on the right brow anyway ).

Any help greatly appreciated as i'm getting married soon and don't want to be trying to fix my eyebrows every five minutes (first world problems eh....?!).

I love Sephora's Brow Gel on the off-chance you're in a country that actually sells it. Holds them steady all day! The application does take a bit of practice.

Thanks blithereens. Is it the clear one? When you say about the application needing practice, what do you mean please (sorry, clueless). Is it not just a upward sweeping that's needed? Thanks

I've only used the clear one, yes.

When I first started using it I used to get globs of it stuck to my eyebrow hairs if I didn't do in extremely good light Not a good look. Now I sort of lightly scrape excess off the brush, and then just gently sweep upwards and outwards. Then I might go over with the tip of the brush to smooth everything into a nice arch.

Do you trim your eyebrows?

If you brush all the hairs upwards, then trim any hair that is sticking over your brow line iyswim.

I used to buy the Body Shop's brow mascara but recently discovered the exact same one in Body Care for £1.30! It works for me. Clear bottle with purple lid.

Do not trim your eyebrows!

I did this as I had similar eyebrows to you and it was irritating me. They looked ridiculous and wonky. Took months to grow back to normal.

It's possible I got a bit snip happy but honestly don't think it's worth the risk. Especially when you're getting married soon.

Benefit do an eyebrow gel that's slightly tinted and applied with a mini mascara wand. I like it. No.7 also sell a clear gel that's cheaper and does the same job.

lj8893 no I don't trim. Is your theory that if I trim the long bits when my brows are up, they will be too short to hang underneath when they drop down? God I've phrased that badly! Did I make sense?

Yes that's my theory as I think my brows are very similar to yours. I always trim and they look so much neater for it!

But, if your worried about doing it yourself, a good beautician will do it for you!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement to the Browzings please? I need something to fill in the sparse areas that is practically impossible to remove!

I just use a normal eyebrow pencil, it doesn't usually budge. I think its loreal that do one with a fixing wax the other end which was quite good.

I can never do eyebrow pencil properly Lj. Maybe I need to look at some YouTube tutorials or something!
