Longer tops

I don't think I am particularly long in the body and I'm a very average height but I have just realised how fed up I am of wishing my tops were about an inch (or more) longer than they are.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I have seen these, which I like, particularly for the neckline, but the review says they last about 5 minutes.

Check out Aldi or Lidl (can't remember which) next week. They're going to having longer length tops as a special.Smile

I've got one of those next tops. The length is great and I've not noticed any problem with the quality. I layer a lot of tshirts over h&m l

I agree, I've got a couple of Boden tops that I kept but after one wash are so short. All the reviews on the site raved about the good quality! For casual long t shirts Fat Face are a good length.

Place marking! I'm only 5 foot 2 but have massive norks so tops are never long enough.

Not keen on pepperberry. I buy 'tall' vests etc but cant buy tall long sleeved tops as the sleeves are really long!

I also have a big tummy I'd like to hide with longer tops.

I also need longer length tops. What annoys me is the number of online retailers who don't include the length of the top (in one of the sizes if they differ, just so you have a guide). GAP says something like 'hits at the hip'... whose hips??

I search on Shopstyle for 'longline top' or 'longline jumper' but that can often bring up extra extra long too. Having said that my tops always seem to shrink so extra extra long is fine after a few washes. Also recommend the long length H&M vests which don't shrink and are thin enough not to add loads of bulk. I've also had some luck in Peacocks of all places

Esprit do a good selection of longline vests and tshirts in the Basics bit of their website. 12 quid so more expensive than h and m dresses (which I also use as vest tops- who on earth wears them as dresses?!?)but the colours are lovely and they stay looking new for longer. Also p&p is free on esprit.co.uk

I bought one of [http://www.oasis-stores.com/botanical-bird-print-tee/tops/oasis/fcp-product/3190391300 these] recently. The blue one. I was on a mission to find a longer length top, just for everyday. Thses were all I could find.
These [http://www.baukjen.com/uk/shop/baukjen/tops/essential-extra-long-t-caviar-black.htm Baukjen] ones are lovely too. I'm sure there must be a code somewhere.....

Second the suggestion for H&M vests, I have them in most of the colours for layering under things. Got into the habit of wearing them while breastfeeding DS and now don't feel comfortable without one!

I'm another that lives Primark strappy tops. Loads of colours and nice and long for 2 quid. Though there are two styles, the one with the satin trim is the normal length.

I don't think I have ever really understood how to layer vests, but given the rare nature of the thing I really want, it might be time to try. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You know, I never thought of looking in tall. Doh.

At 5'll and a J cup top length is my big problem.

For casual, like most i layer, i have the Matalan vests and H&M dresses, i buy a size too small so they don't add bulk.

My problem is work tops, I don't feel the vest under is smart enough for work so always stumped.

I do have a lot of Store21 tunic tops i wear for work. Bought tightly fitted they sit on my hip, and have a work appropriate round neck.
I can wear them with plain trousers and blazer (if I get a size too big they look too causal strangely)

They do four or five different patterns each season but the style is the same. Some ar a little hideous (jewelled sleeves with leopard print) but i have quite a collection now.
They wash and dry quickly and need now ironing.
Can't link at S21 don't seem to sell online.

Another vote for maternity, they are long. H&M are good

I went to Matalan this morning. The vest tops were really quite long, and too tight for me. Other of their t'shirts were fab for length and size although some of them were too see through for me - though not shocking.

They had some nice stuff though in general, if you don't mind a bit of polyester.

I got one to see and some cotton shorts. Meant to be for the beach but I am going to wear them as bed shorts. They are much cheaper than I have seen for similar elsewhere and true to size.

I wonder how they will wash.
