Style advice please - V neck cashmere

I have a dark purple and a cobalt blue V neck cashmere and they both look really awful on. Over a white blouse is ok but anything else just pulls it out of shape (long-sleeved tee for example).

It's this shape www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-cashmere-v-neck-jumper/p809051?colour=Paradise Pink

Am I being a bit thick? Maybe it would look better under a jacket? It just seems to emphasise sloping shoulders and a big bust. Size 12 32F

You are not being thick. I also found my cashmere V necks less flattering than I thought they would be.

Under a jacket good idea or keep wearing with white blouse under.

I'm sure others will be along soon.

Perhaps you could think of them as warm T-shirts, rather than jumpers. Would that help you to style them?

sewbee · 14/03/2014 15:03

Thanks for you support mir glad it's not just me Grin

That's a very clever idea lady I'll try that! Thanks I always think of them as jumpers because I wear a tee under them to avoid washing them all the time - will try harder and wash more often!

I wear mine with a big cotton scarf round my neck.

That sounds like a plan nelly I'll go and see if that works for me too :) Thanks!

You sound about the same size as me! I find round necks more flattering.

I have a couple of silk t-shirts that I bought in Cos these ones and they are great under cashmere jumpers. They were not cheap (£39 each) but I have worn them all winter under cashmere and merino sweaters. They wash really well and save having to wash the sweaters all the time. The cashmere seems to glide over them and sit better on my shape.

I'll try that, thanks travel

Thank you liberty Fab pinterest board! :) I will look at those for underneath.

I really appreciate being able to ask these style questions - I have no idea what I'm doing and my upcoming 50th is making me feel really insecure in all of my choices Blush
