Spring footwear suggestions please!

sooo, looking for some inspiration for spring footwear on maternity leave (so needs to be suitable for pushing a buggy for miles, rules out the heels I have already).

I'm fine for winter - knee high and ankle boots, and for summer I've got a selection of comfy flat sandles I can walk for miles in, but this weather, (feels too sunny for boots, too cold for sandles) that throws me, and I end up in mumsy converse or ballet pumps. However, last year everyone was saying that ballet pumps were a bit mumsy.

I have 2 pairs of brogues (grey and brown) but neither are particularly comfy for walking any sort of distance, any other suggestions? Are we doing loafers? Are they ok with skinny jeans? Will I look like I have hte feet of a pornographer or golf club bore?

Another complication is I have small feet, size 3, lots of places for some reason are now only stocking size 4 and above.

Help please! was so much easier when I just wore silly heels in the office with scruffy running trainers to walk to and from the station

I was at a meeting yesterday and someone was wearing a smart /casual look of the kind I am most of my friends wear (nice top, coordinating cardigan, skinny jeans) then clashing new balance trainers(hadn't heard of them but recognise them nowfrom that blog) I kept staring as it sort of shouldn't have worked but it did. I think I would just look like I had forgotten to change my shoes though or something.

I like those gap loafers. Op I think boden's teen range may have some loafers or similar? I will have a look now.

Sorry I am wrong on the boden thing, just canvas pull ons. I found some sparkley sandals for dd though while I was looking!

Cambridge - I like the yellow ones, although I think they'd struggle to stay on!

now, I've just found these on the oasis website - might have to go try them on. Be honest, will it look a bit too much like I've left the house in a hurry and forgotten to change out of my slippers?

(I've just ordered some sparkly ballet pumps from MiniBoden)

Those mini boden ballet pumps are lovely I looked at them too!

I really like those oasis ones but I am not sure about the slipper thing either, I think its hard to say without seeing them in real life.

My feet are always a stupid blue colour so I couldn't wear them but they are pretty,

I just saw these in Dorothy Perkins

m.dorothyperkins.com/mt/www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/shoes-203538/flats-1979102/nude-sporty-point-pumps-2653337?bi=97&ps=24

They come in grey, black and electiv blue I think. Didn't have my size but seemed comfy.

Phew. I know what skater shows are now. Someone in another thread mentioned them and I googled not sure what they were and was faced with lots of pictures of chunky trainers skateboarders wear.
I though now way could that be right. Could've imagine everyone on mn in clumpy trainers :)

Crazyhours · 14/03/2014 16:46

Op you should try the gap ones on, I found they fit on the small side so you might be ok with a 4. I didn't keep them in the end though as they made my feet look too long (I'm a 6), so I'm still hunting. Not sure about those skater shoes!

MaryWestmacott · 15/03/2014 21:33

Crazyhours - I'll have a try next week and let you know - although they'll have to come up very small to fit me.

non-tassly loafers from Next that start in a 35 (not sure what that converts to?)

MaryWestmacott · 16/03/2014 17:50

ooh, thank you Always - a 35 is a size 2! Although (and now I'm going to sound picky) why have next decided not to make shoes in leather anymore? It's all "material - other" and then a leather lining. I know it's a bit cheaper, but they could charge more for their shoes...
