Help! new job

I've just got myself a fab new job and have NO idea what to wear. I think it is going to be a smart/casual type of office. Can anybody help me with outfit ideas? and especially shoes?! I live almost exclusively in dresses because I have a large bum/hips and don't look great in trousers. I'm 5ft2 and size 10/12.

There are loads of threads knocking about on this subject at the mo. Do you know how to search for them?

What's your budget for shoes?

Skirts in neutral colours, with an assortment of cardies and jumpers, are fairly easy. Some examples here...

For shoes, do they need to be walked in a lot? I wear low-heeled brogues into the office then skyscraper power heels once I'm there. And it's what I would describe as a smart casual office.

Thanks all for the replies. I am awful at walking in heels but find that pumps look a bit casual. Any alternatives?! Budget around £60
