Definitely too old for vans! I was wondering about Adidas gazelle but I think I'm probably to old for them too. I really like the camper leather trainer type shoe but they only have white or yellow.

Nike do some cute high tops in bright colours or even low ones.

Nike blazer lows, just bought a white leather pair. I am wearing them with pretty much everything

I second PF Flyers, I love my New Balance too - had a pair in the 90s, just got some the same so am reliving my youth

I have Lacoste leather sneakers. You can get them in black it white. They are comfy and they look both sporty and smart. Quite pricey though...

I bought some Candice Coopers yesterday. Cost about £150 but are so comfortable and will last longer than converse. Dressier than most others too.
