Toast dungarees....

What do you think? awful or nice. The denim ones are all sold out and with a hefty pricetag they have now introduced linen cotton ones in a kind of beige colour. I am in two minds. I love the top half of them but think the bottom half make the model look like an overgrown toddler. What do you think of them? Or maybe you have a pair and think they look nice on real women? I think the models make the clothes look weird and really puts me off buying anything from them [ if i could afford it] as they are way overpriced imo. Comments please ?????!!!!

Personally, no. I know someone who's young and slim and even she doesn't look good in dungarees!

Ive never seen anyone wearing dungarees actually. The toast ones look pretty awful tbh..really baggy at the bottom and yet they have sold out, so someone must have bought them!
My daughter is 7 and she has a denim pair from Joules. She looks cool in them but i think even in her they make her bum look bad!!! and she is a child!!!

I do wonder because they are super impractical as well - I mean imagine going to the toilet in them! (I always wonder the same thing about onesies too though)

I have recently acquired a cheap pair from ASOS. They are slim fitting and while they're not THE most flattering garment in my wardrobe, they are perfectly passable for day to day wear. I like them with high tops and a stripey tee.

I do really like the look of some of them esp the wide leg ones out of river island although unfortunately wasnt lucky enough to get a pair of them. I do have a pair of lovely blue denim washed ones although i havent worn them as yet. I will wear them tucked into my boots and with a cardigan to cover my bum!!!

I have just bought myself a pair of gorgeous dungarees from dungarees-online. I was a bit unsure to be honest but when they came oh my goodness...they are super soft and so comfy. Have lived in them since!! Called them up and spoke to a lady called Sharon who was so helpful! Good luck finding your perfect pair...they had loads of different styles...

Dungarees are one of the things we wore in the 80s and now look back at ourselves in awe - what the hell were we thinking?! It's not a good look imo - might be the in look at the moment, but that still doesn't make it a good look...

My SIL has a pair - they looked pretty good on her. However, £135? with a family of 4 who I know are struggling for money. Still, she does always have nice clothes.

I haven't seen them but the description of beige linen dungarees alone is enough to send me screaming for the hills! I have never seen anyone wearing dungarees and thought they looked good. Leave them to the toddlers!

Yeh, i had a pair a long time ago. I do at myself and think OMG!!!! they were really horrible, baggy with a sweatshirt tucked in [cringe] but i loved them so much!!! The thing is, they do look much nicer now cause they always tweek new styles. I mean i love flare legged jeans and still wear them!!!!! I have a soft spot for dungarees and infact anything with that bib and brace style. . Enb76..yeh £135 is a lot of money if you are struggling. I dont know if i love or hate them on the website. The beige ones are £179!!!!!!! Take a look !

Nipersvest I love those dungarees! she looks great in them imo. I wish I could find a pair like that! I have searched and searched for that relaxed look but cant seem to find ones like that

Oh I am glad that you like them too!! They are so comfy and I was beginning to think that I was going mad when I read the other comments from other mummies!

I got my usual size and they fit perfectly! I called them and Sharon was so patient! She went and measured the dungarees for me so I could size them up before I bought them! The only thing with them is that the inside leg is way too big for me but I've rolled them up and they're fine!

You cannot be serious I wore those in the 70s!

mummyjones what size are you? I am a 12 but have a round tummy. It says the size 12 is 30inches. I think that might be neat on me?

amber I've got the Asos ones too...can't say I'd go out for the day/evening in them but I really enjoy wearing them and I don't think they look totally horrendous. Come summer with a vest top and rolled up with sandals/Superga they will be great!

Hi pixiepie...I am a size 10 and also have a "mummy tummy" the 10s fit nicely though...Sharon did say to me I could exchange the dungarees if they weren't right

You will all look like children's tv presenters from the 80's. surely that isn't the look you want.

I dont get why people dont like them. I think they look great when they are the right fit and they are worn well. I wore them when I was young and I wore leggings but there is no way I would wear them the same way with the same things. That is why! I mean its perfectly clear to me that fashion comes round again and again. It always tweaked in a different way. I wear leggings but I wear them under dresses and tunics not the way they were worn in the 80's!
