Is this morse code bracelet a rip-off?

Here

I love this - it's our 12th anniversary soon (silk) so it would be a perfect hint to DH - and I like the idea of having my two DSs' initials.

But is it a rip-off for what is essentially a bit of thread and a few gold-plated beads?

Has anyone got one, can you vouch for the quality?

Looks lovely and I like the idea but couldn't you make one yourself for about a fiver? Go to any bead shop and they can sell you the stuff. I also think the silk hint to DH is rather subtle to say the least and he would have to have an emotional iq of an absolute genius to get it! Grin

Haha - yes it would probably have to be a hint in the form of an emailed link Wink

Can you choose Bored?

meditrina · 01/03/2014 09:12

I think I'd want to make one myself - just think of the messages you could encode!

expatinscotland · 01/03/2014 09:15

Yes! It's gold-filled. Gold-plated, gold-filled is a rip off.

Overpriced shite tat. Ask if they do one saying 'we saw you coming'.
Be a nice craft idea for pre teen girls to do one afternoon, though.

Ronald - I should really have 'knackered' but I'd need a whole necklace for that.

Reckon this one's better value...

This is like those knitted necklaces sold for £26 by Not on The High Street, but going for £2.50 on Ebay.

I like this although it has nothing to do with love

NotJustACigar · 01/03/2014 09:52

Betty that John Lewis one - call me pedantic but I could never buy something that had a grammatical error in its name! There are plenty of morse code ones on etsy going for around £20.

YouCanCallMeBetty · 01/03/2014 10:35

I know cigar I'm struggling with that one too - between you and ME!

I am Shock at 'Between you and I'!

NotJustACigar · 01/03/2014 11:40

Dreadful, isn't it? Perhaps they think it sounds posher that way Hmm

HappyHippyChick · 01/03/2014 11:55

My first thought was that it was a combination of exotic and esoteric. But I could be wrong...
