Splitting nails

My nails are suddenly splitting like billy-o, though one hand seem to be worse than the other. What can I do to repair/rectify them?

My evil step grandma used to tell me to eat a cube of raw jelly a day (no b idea I'd this works)

After you remove your nail varnish wash your hands really well to remove any traces of remover then rub some castor or almond oil into your nails.

Leave them as long as poss before applying next varnish. Although I have applied new varnish within 10 mins of oil and it seems to be fine.

For some weird reason my varnish now also seems to stay on longer??!!
