Cry for help!
I don't know how to wear make-up, my skin is blemished, my hair is a mess and I get married in 4 months time.

please help me sort it out

Your first port of call needs to be a hairdresser and you need to have a facial.

If you suffer from blemished skin you can have a tailored facial that should help the problem. Have it done ASAP so your skin has a chance to calm down before your wedding day.

Book yourself in with one of the makeup counters in a department store for a makeover. The makeup artist will show you how to apply makeup and you can then purchase the products and replicate the look at home.

First of all calm down, second of all go and see a Bare Mineral make up counter. I used to have spots and break outs but since I've been using bare mineral my skin has been clear and the set comes in a starter kit so its really easy to apply and it also comes with a dvd incase you get stuck.
Hair wise use coconut oil and leave it on over night and wash off in the morning and your hair will be all shiny and soft. You haven't said if you have highlights or dyed hair etc so if not why not ask your hairdresser about some subtle highlights to brighten up your hair or maybe a small change like a side fringe which can make the world of difference.

Right, tell us about your skin. Is is dry, greasy etc? When you say blemishes, do you mean spots or redness?

my hair is dyed red at the moment (home dye job) long straight and boring, ive been growing it after a hideous bad cut but have booked into a new hairdresser next week to try and do something. The problem is I have no idea what that something is, I quite fancy a long side fringe but not sure if it will look ok.

I've also booked eyebrow wax as I have huge hairy caterpillars at the moment

my skin is dry across my cheeks and red and blotchy, by forehead and chin can get oily and I get spots here, around my hairline and huge deep ones on my jaw line.

Deep ones on your jaw line sounds like cystic acne. Get yourself to the GP for a long course of oral antibiotics, they will be working their magic within four months.

I have recently transformed my skin. I had terrible rosacea, dryness alongside deep spots and a 'grey' look. In the last few months I follow this religiously:

Night time: First cleanse with Una Brennan Rose oil from Boots. Second cleanse with Clinique take the day off balm. I use a soft face cloth and use a clean one every time. Then I use Estee lauder Advanced night repair, followed by La Rouche Posay Hydreane Riche.

Morning: Same expect for I omit the rose oil, and swap ANR with La Roche Posay serum for rosacea.

Supplments: Perfectil skin plus, and vitamin D3.

I'm not sure which bit of this works, but I dare not leave any of it out. Honestly, it has transformed my skin.

Get a load of magazines for hair ideas. Whose hair do you like? Worth taking some pictures to the hairdresser, they like to be given a clear idea of what you are looking for.

I would say you might be better looking at Lisa Eldridge on Youtube as opposed to Pixiwoo. Lisa has done some lovely natural looks and some wedding ones as well. I would actually say Pixiwoo often overdo their make-up and end up looking like drag queens nowadays, although their videos a couple of years ago were good.. The products that they talk about are also often sponsored so maybe not the best place to get recommendations?

With skincare I'm not so sure about the facial idea? I think they often actually make skin a lot worse in the long run and you can end up being pushed to purchase expensive products that your skin doesn't need. I would start a really simple skincare routine using something like the effaclar range from La-Roche-Posay. You can buy it in boots and it's not too expensive. Just stick to cleansing really well and moisturising. If you have blemishes then I would really say try effaclar duo. It will make your skin look better within days. Keep using it once a day in the run up to your wedding though.

I would second the idea of mineral make-up. A lot of people have a reastion to bare minerals make-up but I would try getting a sample and seeing how you get on with it. Lily Lolo is probably one of the best mineral foundations out there in my opinion and you can purchase small samples of it from the website to help you find your colour match.

With basic skin care, here's my advice.

Buy a simple face wash and apricot facial scrub. Use the facial scrub twice a week and then simple face wash twice a day.

Then use a simple night cream and eye cream. Apply eye cream round the bones round eyes in a circle.

No picking of any spots. Don't self harm like that x and it does harm your skin and takes longer to heal as you age. The simple products should sort the problems out.

Plenty of water and sleep and not too much booze.

For day time, I put a bit of simple day cream on hand and a bit of foundation, mix and apply to face.

Learn to use an eyeliner at the corners. Practice and work out what you like.

Mascara.

Lip balm all day long.

Add eyes and lip colour for evening.

General skin care for me involves regular exfoliation in the bath followed by loads of moisturizing. Body that is.....

Sorry, but scrubs for red, rosacea skin is a total no-no.

I spent last night doing some ferocious googleing of products (still not much wiser really) and had a root through the bathroom cabinet.

I cant use scrubs - or at least I haven't found one that suits, without making my red cheeks sore and even more red and sensitive

I started this morning by using face wash (tea tree foaming stuff)instead of my usual flannel and water, and used an oil-free moisturiser that id already got.
Planning a trip to town after lunch so will pop to boots and see what I can find any further suggestions of what to buy before I go?
