Yay - 30DD bras from Next

Having been 'bra intervened' from 32B/C to 30DD I've been trying to find bras that fit and flatter in that size. It's been quite hard as the cheaper brands usually start at 32 and the more expensive or DD+ brands just don't seem to flatter smaller boobs - they flattern or make 'pointy'! Also, I want some smooth t-shirt bras not lacy adorned stuff that shows through my clothes.

Anyway, was in Next the other day and spotted a couple of bras in a 30 band size, usually 32 is the smallest I've seen in store or online. Ordered several 30DD's and found the £10 spotted bras fit perfectly (& importantly flatter not flattern!). So, have been able to but a couple at that price and donate my 32B bras to the charity shop.

Unfortunately the 30DD t-shirt bras were too small and there's no 30E option. I've ordered the same styles in 32D & 32DD so will have to see if they're any good.

Oooh thanks for the tip, thats my size too and even the places that stock it seem to have v few in...so good to have another place to try!

Just had a look. Panache porcelain only goes up to a G and the debenhams gorgeous range is the same. :(

Mumat, I'd maybe suggest trying the Bravissimo Alana (or one of it's other balconettes). I'm quite close set, but I still get on well with this one. It runs a bit small in the cup IME.

Something to note is that at larger sup sizes, the cup measurement does become less accurate - it's actually a combination of the measurement not working quite as well, and bras varying more as cups increase. Assuming you don't have access to a Bravissimo locally I would suggest maybe choosing a couple of styles you like the look of and ordering in multiple sizes to try on and compare at home. Their returns are excellent but it will probably be the best way to tell.

Long term, if you are narrow set then you might well want to consider Ewa Michalak. You'll be a custom size (I am too) which makes them non-returnable however if you work out your size in a few UK bras like Alana then there are a few of us who have tried lots of EMs who will be able to guide you. They have very narrow central gores and are very good for bigger sizes. Have a look at the curvywordy blog for an idea, she's a similarish bra size and wears and reviews lots.

Oh, such fantastic advice. Thankyou so much.

Looking forward to bra shopping, and that's saying something as I normally hate shopping for anything clothes related.

Thanks

Emma you've been deleted before for this...

I'm a 30DD too (thank you bra interventions!) and have just found out that asos do bikini tops in a 30DD. Just ordered this gorgeous 50's style one and the high waisted bikini bottoms

Emma the Triumph Fit Adviser Hmm should of course be saying 'there will always be something to fit you...just that it won't be a Triumph' seeing as how Triumph are chief offenders in the 'bra sizes start at 34' travesty...

treaclesoda · 26/02/2014 15:51

and that reminds me, didn't Triumph used to have Louise Redknapp advertising their bras, and isn't she very slim? What are the chances that their bras even fitted her?

SorrelForbes · 26/02/2014 16:20

That bikini top is the exact style I like. Doesn't come in a 30GG though Sad

polexiaaphrodesia · 26/02/2014 16:34

Sorrel, Boux Avenue do go up to a 30G in some styles and have similar halter styles. Might be worth a try?

SorrelForbes · 26/02/2014 16:49

Alas, BA tend to come up small in the cup so I know that a 30G won't cut it. I could try a 32G I guess. The only one I like though is the Marseille spot multiway bikini top as I have to have a top where the straps come from the sides of the cups. (I had a whole thread about this last year and ended up with a lovely one from Hoola)

I have Freya deco x 100's
Excited at prospect of cheaper options!!
