Solar Kerasosis anyone?

I have a number of patches of SK on my face. I had a cream 'Solareze' a couple of years ago which worked well on most of them but struggle to find a window to use it where we will not be in the sun soon right now would be a good time but I dont fancy the scabby look
Has anyone tried Bio-oil, can you put it directly on your face? Mine tends to be dry so I guess it would be ok it just feels as if I'm going to incur a deluge of spots if I do.
Any other advice on these patches would be gratefully received.

My DH had this on his (bald) head, he recently got a treatment called Picata from the GP. Application over 3 days, the patches blistered, scabbed and then disappeared. So far so good, skin looks much better.
