Wedding guest outfit

I'm going to a wedding rception (not the service) next weekend and need a new outfit.
I'm tall, 5"11 and a dress size 18. I have a highstreet budget.
Inspiration is much needed

Just lots of questions from me for now, I'm afraid

What colours do you like? Body shape? Colouring? Actual budget? Are we looking for a dress? Do you have any shoes or bags you' d lime to make use of?

My favourite colour is green. I am quite pale, brown hair that I'm hoping to wear down, but don't get me started on hairstyles
I reckon I'm pear shaped.........maybe apple, have never been able to work it out properly. My shoulders are as wide as my hips, I think.
I don't really have an 'actual' budget, but don't want to spend loads because I'll probably never wear it again due to being a saddo who doesn't get out much!
I don't do big heels because they make me taller than dp but can do little kitten heels. I don't do open toe shoes. I have a black clutch, but have no problem buying accessories to match an outfit I find.

Black is fine with bright accessories, even for day. It's looking funeral that's wrong but TBH that's also perfectly possible with navy too.

these shoes would be great with the green dress. you'd need a bit of detail in the bag though, I think. MAybe along the lines of this, possibly.
