Nude shoes, no tights?

Hi all

Just hoping to pick your brains.
I am planning my outfit for a (rare!) valentines date with hubby - Just going for a nice meal in a local restaurant.

I have a rust red dress and would like to wear my trusty nude heels, but would it look wrong with no tights in the middle of feb? Or are nude tights a better option? or are they nasty??
I am not sure if nude shoes and thick black tights would look very good?
Shameful, I know, but I don't have any black heels!? (I don't get out much).

Black tights wouldn't look right. Nice nude tights (i.e. not thick, snagged, wrinkly, orange, or uber-shiny) would be fine, but I like nude fishnets the best as they're subtle but more modern.

Hope you have a lovely night!

Thanks for the link, and of course why on earth didnt I just look on eBay?!

LadyVetinari · 11/02/2014 16:35

Southbank - for some reason, I didn't realise until I'd tried all of the high street shops either! Blush Now, if only a retailer would start selling them in packs of five...

polyhymnia · 11/02/2014 16:42

Of course if you're sitting at a restaurant table your legs won't be visible anyway. If it were me I'd rather wear nice boots. But if nude heels make you feel good , agree nude fishnets a good choice.

NUDE TIGHTS low denier

DrNick · 11/02/2014 16:46

nude fishnets look like old ladies thing

LadyVetinari · 11/02/2014 17:17

DrNick -Maybe the old lady who inspired the Jenny Joseph poem... They can be lovely, as long as they're the right colour for your skintone. I hear that they're very popular on The Continent Wink.

southbank · 11/02/2014 18:01

nude fishnets really aren't an old lady thing!
They look great if you want an alternative to nude tights,I think on my legs they look better tbh.
I have had lots of positive comments when I've worn them

DrNick · 11/02/2014 20:31

Lol at continent. Haven't heard that for years

Maverick66 · 12/02/2014 19:05

Think Kate Middleton - she always wears nude low denier tights :)

Financeprincess · 12/02/2014 19:27

In the nicest way, for the love of God, do not follow the Middletons' frumpy styling choices.

Nude fishnets are a bit chancy in my experience. They can make your legs look really pasty unless you have a very healthy layer of fake tan on underneath. I'd be brave and risk bare legs.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/02/2014 21:25

Nude tights or nude fishnets. Bare legs would be bonkers imho.

polyhymnia · 12/02/2014 23:12

Wear nice boots! It's February!

Floisme · 13/02/2014 08:09

I'm with Polyhymnia. You're all insane! Put some boots on!
