After lifelong inability to wear lambs wool I gave discovered I can tolerate cashmere!!now on quest to build collection of cardis slowly as they are costly. Have seen boden and pure. Has anyone bought both as I would like to know which is best quality for my money! Boden have a tempting colour range for sure! Thankyou .

I have 4 jumpers and 3 shawls from pure all of them are worn over and over and after 3 years still look great. I wait for the sales and stock up Smile

My Pure collection cardi pilled very quickly. I was disappointed

not all granny-ish

Can you not just pull the bobbly bits off? Woollovers says there is initial bobbling but indeed you pick it off or shave it, then that's it. That's been my experience.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/02/2014 17:52

Also you HAVE to wash with special wool wash detergent, even non bio will be too harsh.

Boden cashmere is very poor quality and bobbles immediately. The Whistles cashmere bought this year seems to be OK.Its only bobbled under the armpit so far.Stefanel cashmere has held up pretty well as has my 4 years old Tesco cashmere.I don't think price these days is any indication of quality to be honest. My one Pure item has worn well but is rarely worn as is a gold sequined number.I repeatedly remove bobbles now and have just come to expect to do this for every cashmere item.I always use special delicate wash though as even nonbio has loads of additives added(never use fabric conditioner).

Brora sell good cashmere combs, a really good investment.

You must wash carefully with proper wool wash too. Even good cashmere bobbles a little bit but cheap cashmere bobbles a lot because the fibres are much shorter.

I like my Comptoir des Cotonniers cashmere

HappyAsEyeAm · 10/02/2014 13:42

Oooooh. I feel a cashmere cardi investment from Brora or Elgin coming on. Do you find that they go baggy at the elbows?

SidandAndyssextoy · 10/02/2014 13:49

My Eric Bompard jumper is still as new, five years later, and they are machine washable. Really gorgeous colours too.

Brora and Elgin cardis are all too long for me. I'm such a short arse that the maximum length I could have is about 58 cm, and even then I have to accept that the sleeves will be really long. So I've saved myself some money at least!

sugar4eva · 13/02/2014 13:29

Happy I'm just over five foot and the crop card in the sale is tiny.
Speaking of which oh gosh it is lovely .so soft! Cashmere addiction is born!
Thankyou all for advice!
