Bodycon for a funeral?

Is it a bad idea?

I've really struggled to find something suitable for DH's DGF's funeral and have bought this today. Is it ok? I really don't want to make a fool of myself by wearing something inappropriate. If it helps I'm about 5'10" and a 12/14 so this is one of the few things I could find on or below the knee.

I've also ordered this for home delivery but it hasn't arrived yet. I like the simplicity of it but I'm worried it will be too short on me.

I also picked up a plain black, knee length (but above on me) round neck/cap sleeve black tailored dress in the Zara sale but because of my proportions the tailoring is a little off where it should be - this is why I tend to avoid tailored styles. It would probably only be noticeable to me but still. I can't find it online to link to but it is a basic workwear style if you can imagine.

I was really looking for something like this - i.e. classic and understated but I really hate the texture on this - reminds me of a bedspread.

Also what tights should I wear? Nude or black opaques?

I don't think either will be inappropriate tbh, as long as you wear big coat/ cardi. Do wonder how transparent the river island one is mind.

I think the River Island dress will be fine - the sleeves make it more modest than the M&S dress for instance

It is double layered so not at all see through.

The first one is better. I was at a a funeral yesterday, and there was some real shockers. Too tight and too short.

I think both are fine too. I would just pick whichever one you think you're most likely to wear afterwards.

The more fashion conscious might say nude tights but, in this weather, I'd be in my thickest, black opaques!

Both are great but long sleeves are traditional (you can wear a jacket or cardigan over the short-sleeved dress). I expected to see Herve Leger bandage dresses but these are fine. Wear a black slip (or, if you don't have one, a vest) underneath, they hide some lumps and bumps and slips add comfort. Black opaques or black sheer tights - a funeral is not about fashion but about respect and making other feel better.
