I'm looking for some help in updating my wardrobe.

I buy cheap stuff to get me through the week/month fairly regularly but I feel I have no style.

I don't know how to put outfits together and tend to rotate the same stomach hiding stuff constantly.

My weight has fluctuated and I am in the process of Doing the thirty day shred and changing my lifestyle so I don't want to spend a fortune at all.

What key pieces should I buy?

Thanks x

Naturally an hourglass, big boobs, quite big hips/thighs and small waist.
I looked at the daily fall earlier but I don't do well with being told what to eat other than low carb low fat etc.

Thank you, I love Pinterest, but think I like clothes for waif like model types?

You seem like me but I'm a smaller hourglass. I also have a narrow back and small waist which can help re certain dresses.

I do like the first dress you linked to and it's a bargain. Would you get much wear out of it though?

do you want what you buy now to be a mix of everyday clothes and evening clothes - eg you can dress up and down?

I'd steer clear of the skater skirt for me - but if you think you'd wear it, have the legs for it etc then why not, you're young?! (I'm 42!)

The outfit with the floral trousers is great actually. I can see you wearing both those items and even the jumper with say the skater skirt.

The above is what I'd be looking for - what can I wear with other items, dress up/down etc.

I also see lots of mums and other women wearing the floral trousers and they're a nice look.

TessTackle · 04/02/2014 10:21

The first dress I can see myself wearing into spring/summer, but not so much now.

Think you're right about the skirt, I like the style but always find them too short really.

Patterned trousers I am loving but I don't know what shoes to wear? I can't wear heels on the school run and generally don't day to day.

Thanks for helping by the way, what a star Thanks

Hi

ok if you think you will wear the first dress THIS spring/summer then I'd get it. Its a bargain.

Flats with the floral trousers but not sure which. Maybe smarter ones - all depends if you want to spend more money or just get cheaper or canvas ones. I've had nice cheap canvas ones from H&M. Also ballet pumps would be nice.

You're welcome. I am by no way an expert (compared to some others here) but it IS important to you (and others) what you wear re your self confidence etc!

Smile

I'm going to order the dress then! Am I crazy to order it in a 12?!

I think I'll go into some shops to try floral trousers before I order any, but yes to smarter flats. I quite like the little slider slipper style ones? Or comfy loafers?

I'm very grateful, none of my friends/family seem to understand how much confidence I've lost.

Tess - I'd only order it in a 12 if you KNOW you'll slim into it. Wink asos have a good online chat person you could check with re sizing.

Yes, good idea re the trousers to try beforehand. I'd do the same with suede slipper flat and comfy loafers. Try and see what suits you. If you do lots of running around with work/child/not work etc then ensure they're comfy for that.

I should be a 12 by then, I've only really put on 8 or 9 lb but it makes a big difference to how I look/feel.

Will do some trying on ASAP and get back to you. Thanks x
