Work trousers

My office us not a suit kind of place

I need a pair of slim fitting straight legged trousers - are these called cigarette trousers? I just can't find any, is there another term I could search under? They mustn't be that nasty Dorothy Perkins shiny office-wear material, i think I'd like thick, slightly stretchy cotton

Secondly I'd like some well fitting wide legged ones, again in a nice fabric, and preferably not too £££ as its work, and I'd rather spend my money on fancy out of work clothes Grin

Can anyone recommend or suggest a good place to carry on my search?

Oh and I'm a size 16

For work I wear Boden bistro trousers and Me and Em cigarette pants. The Boden ones were much cheaper. Quite high waisted which I like but they don't have belt loops which is a shame.

I liked the look of the boden bistro ones but need belt loops, the wool ones have them and are great.

wool bistro crops

I bought the long as regular are too short.

Also gap slim crops are good.

I hadn't thougt of checking either of those so thanks, off for a look

Have you seen the Gap cigarette trousers? Very thick cotton blend.

MichaelFinnigan · 01/02/2014 10:02

What is boden sizing like?

And you you have to find a discount code don't you?

I quite like those ones, deffo worth a look

Watching this thread. I'm always on the look out as Gap trousers never fit me. Everything I find is always sodding dry clean only!

titan · 01/02/2014 10:09

They come up a bit big, like gap or M & S. There's always a 15% discount code with free delivery, sometimes more.
I up have these. The advantage over the wool ones are you can machine wash which is essential for me as I wash after very wear.

MichaelFinnigan · 01/02/2014 10:10

Are these the gap ones ? They don't have any called 'cigarette trousers' I find know if these ones look a bit wide, perhaps just on the little model

They do a skinny one too, but may he too skinny [fickle]

It's these ones: m.gap.co.uk/product.html?dn=gp000349597000&dv=0&shopid=0&pdn=gc57397. Others love them but I find that Gap trousers don't fit me as too scrawny of leg.

AnnabelleDarling · 01/02/2014 12:14

The true straight from gap are quite baggy. I was recommended the Gap Skinny Crop as an alternative to the Boden Bistro. I like the Gap ones a lot, I am 5'4", pear shaped 10 and find the Skinny Crop 10 a good fit.

AnnabelleDarling · 01/02/2014 12:17

The Ultra Skinny is tighter and stretchier than the Slim Crop, the Slm Crop is definitely more of a cigarette pant

AnnabelleDarling · 01/02/2014 12:18

I mean Slim crop not Skinny Crop Confused

EduCated · 01/02/2014 12:21

I live in Gap's True Straight, but imagine you would want the Slim Crop.

summerlovingliz · 01/02/2014 12:21

I had some lovely cigarette style ones from h and m Smile

Gillybobs · 01/02/2014 12:40

Boden now do the bistro trousers in full length, I have the black for work and they are perfecto

Tweet2tweet · 01/02/2014 13:34

Just bought Gap true straight today in sale for £9.99 with an extra 20% off. The offer is this weekend only and I think only in store.
