Bra Intervention ..paying it forward

I staged two interventions - my 16yr old size 8 DD and my SIL both successfully. DD has tonight done her own bra intervention on one of her best friends who is a very naturally skinny lass. I'd say a 6. M&S had her in a 32B. She's a 28(actually prob a 26) D/DD

I sorted out my sister who is now in a 34F. I am now in a 36GG. I still have random 40DD's hanging about in my drawer that I need to get rid of.

I still have a 38C (I'm a 32FF!) from M&S's measuring fail. I keep it just to laugh at it Confused

I got a friend out of her 38DDs as well, she's a size 10 otherwise. She didn't believe me until I grabbed one of my bras, draped it around her, cully clothed, back to front and showed her that see, size 32 fits you with room to spare!

My daughter, several friends, a couple of work colleagues Smile

Pretty much everyone that knows me, and a few who don't, random woman and daughter in M&S

Hattie23 · 03/02/2014 14:14

I've not managed to intervene with anyone else but would like to be able to pay forward in a different way. Thanks to MNers I now have a bag full of A cup bras (whilst sitting comfortably in my new D cupsSmile) and I am wondering if there are any charities that accept 2nd hand bras that anyone may know about? I understand that the majority of high street charity shops cannot use them but some accept and send them to Africa?
(Sorry for slight derailing of thread)

SorrelForbes · 03/02/2014 15:17

I think Oxfam still run a scheme which sends bras to Africa.

Hattie23 · 04/02/2014 17:13

Thankyou Sorrel, I'll look into that.

Picturesinthefirelight · 04/02/2014 17:18

I wish I could sort dd out with a first bra

According to m&s she should be 30AA

I measure her at 26 B. they don't do them that size

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/02/2014 17:21

Pictures you could try a 28A and either get a Rixie clip or take in the and for her (quite easy to do)

GinOnTwoWheels · 05/02/2014 14:01

Hattie and others with bras that don't fit. You could also donate them to the Bag a Bra charity, which raises funds for air ambulances.

In our area, there are collecting bins at recycling centres and in shopping centres - google Bag a Bra (and perhaps the name of your town/county) to find one local to you.

GinOnTwoWheels - thank you very much - I will look into Bag a Bra too.

BeCool · 01/03/2014 11:00

I can't put it off any longer - I must go bra shopping today.

I've just searched though all the Bra Intervention threads I can find and I've done the measurements.

I measure 39 under, 48 over.

So I am looking to try on 38GG's and 40FF - crikey. Currently the only bra that fits comfy is a 40E.

wish me luck Grin

SorrelForbes · 01/03/2014 12:04

Good luck!

BeCool · 02/03/2014 20:20

WOW - I found lots of bras to fit and as some were in double packs I an now the proud owner of 7 new bras!!! (40G's!!!)

I feel EPIC!

I've never had so many bras let alone new ones that ALL fit.
