Manic Panic hair dye

Has anyone any experience of this? I want to dye the ends of my hair purple (mid life crisis, anyone?) Just wondered what it's like or if there's a better alternative. TIA

I've been dying my hair ridiculous colours for over twenty years (it's currently blue) and have never got on with Manic Panic - it always ends in misery and woe for me.

I'd recommend Directions or Special Effects (pricier but worth it) instead - they both have nice purples. :)

i'd recommend the fudge paintbox colours, they do a lovely rich purple

I use directions, have used lavender pink silver and mixtures of all of the above. Great stuff, obviously is not "permanent" but takes on bleached hair really well.

Whoops. I'd ordered MP before I came back to this thread. My idea is to dye the tips and if I don't like it I can have them trimmed off

Ordered Electric Amethyst cos that looked royal purple, but DH and DD both reckon it's blue! What do you think?

Oh and I would love ginger hair (considered Clairol All Aglow Red) but my hair is so thin and fine that my scalp would show up like a Belisha Beacon!
