Merrell Coats

Hi

I have a merrell Haven and another one (forgot the name) and I am looking to wash them.

Should I use Nikwax Tech Wash?

Also, what can I use to waterproof them? Both are thick insulated coats.

All help appreciated.

Tech wash or Grangers equivalent or pure soap to wash and a spray to reproof the outside if needed. After drying flick water at the coat, if it beads and rolls off then you don't need to reproof.

Can't make up my mind if a spray would be better or a wash in one?

Nikwax or Grangers are the two brands you'll get in most outdoor shops. I think either would be fine. I would use a spray proof er on an insulated coat, so you're not coating the fibres inside with it.

Run your machine empty with a hot wash to clean it out beforehand then wash your coat.
