I am intending to have my eyes done (I have never had it done before) - can you see marks on the face afterwards or the next day from needles? Can people see evidence iyswim?
thanks

I've had it for migraines. It was mainly in my hair line, neck and temples, but I did have some on my forehead and between my eyes. I got a couple of raised spots in a couple of places. I don't think anyone would have noticed unless I pointed it out though.

Jewels234 · 27/01/2014 22:50

I got it for the first time on Friday! It was on my forehead, and afterwards for about 5 mins you could see little red marks...but they were gone after that.

The only thing was a couple of tiny spots of blood from where it had pierced my skin, only visible to the naked eye if you were looking for them. I rubbed them off gently with a face wipe, but you aren't supposed to rub your skin for a few hours.

RonaldMcDonald · 28/01/2014 00:44

generally no, I once developed a bruise though so be prepared with some concealer

cardamomginger · 28/01/2014 08:04

No marks! Sometimes there is a little redness around the injection sites for a couple of hours afterwards. I've had a small bruise once. But it just looked like DD had poked me with something, so it didn't give the game away.

Do you mind me asking how old you all were when you started getting it done? and how often do you need to have it topped up?

cardamomginger · 28/01/2014 11:47

I started when I was 40, so 2 years now. I get it topped up every 4-5 months, although I could probably stretch it to 6. I wish I had started years ago!

ollyboo · 28/01/2014 12:30

Do you think it makes a difference if you start early? I'm in my early 30's and have been thinking about it for around my eyes. .. and maybe my forehead but thought maybe I was starting too early!

hairypaws · 28/01/2014 12:46

I'm 43 and get it twice a year. you can get a little bruising at the site but not usually too bad. A colleague of mine did however end up with a bit of a black eye but I think this is pretty uncommon.

cardamomginger · 28/01/2014 13:20

olly - if you have lines you want to get rid of, why not?

ollyboo · 28/01/2014 14:30

I suppose Im sort of worried about the long term affects of using it...do you know of anyone who has had to stop after say 10 yrs, if you did stop would you suddenly get loads of wrinkles???

cardamomginger · 28/01/2014 14:34

It's been around for decades and is very safe. But it sounds like a question for a doctor.

FoxyHarlow123 · 28/01/2014 15:00

I started at about 34, just for my 11s. Have had it done twice a year on average since then. Am now not far short of 10 years older. I still have it done but a bit more subtlety, as a totally smooth forehead would be at odds with a slightly more weathered face! I have pinprick marks for about 30 mins afterwards but nothing that would stand out.

CestelloAnnunciation · 28/01/2014 15:09

Depends where around your eyes and what your skin is like.

I get red pin pricks that last about an hour sround my eyes and then mild bruising under my eye that can be concealed with make up but that lasts about a week. On my forehead and no.11s the pin pricks are gone in a few minutes and no bruising.

AmazingJumper · 28/01/2014 19:08

Red bumps immediately after, tiny dots for an hour or so but nothing that someone who didn't know you'd had it would notice.

Doearwigsmakechutney · 28/01/2014 19:23

Can I just ask how much you all pay? I want to get my 11s done, but it sounds like I need to budget for twice yearly top ups so it'd be good to know what I'm letting myself in for...

RonaldMcDonald · 29/01/2014 08:36

I go once every 6-8 mths, costs £200

FoxyHarlow123 · 29/01/2014 10:00

£200.

Doearwigsmakechutney · 02/02/2014 19:57

Thank you. I went to the dentist on Friday and they've just started offering it, from 220. Good to know that's in the general ballpark.
