JustFab.co.uk, don't bother

Word of warning to anyone considering buying shoes or boots from JustFab.co.uk! A friend at work recommended them to me back in October and I went online and bought a pair of boots. When they arrived I thought they were ok but not of a great quality, but as they were only £17.50 I decided to keep them and made a mental note not to bother looking at the website again. Fast forward to today, when I actually sat and read my credit card statement properly - JustFab had taken £35 from my card in early January.

I have just called their Customer Service department to query the charge and was told that when I placed my first order, I signed up to their VIP agreement !!! (really??). They have taken a total of £105 since my first order in October. I asked for the agreement to be cancelled immediately and said I had no knowledge of the agreement and asked for a refund. Cue 25 minutes of to and fro arguments with them claiming that if they cancel the agreement then my £105 of credit will be worthless and it is their policy not to refund. They then put me on hold for 10 minutes when I asked to speak to someone more senior and I ended up ringing off.

Luckily my credit card company are very understanding and have cancelled any further payments and I will dispute the 3 lots of £35 already paid.

I have had a quick look online and lots of people seem to have fallen into the same trap. As far as I can see, when you agree to their standard T&C's you are also signing up for VIP membership and a £35 per month fee for the honour!

Yes, I should have read the smaller than small print, but I promise it is not obvious in the slightest.

So if you are tempted by the adverts on TV, don't bother, the quality is sub standard and their trading methods and customer service STINK!!

That opt out every month is just dodgy, how long do you have to do that for? For ever? When your 90 and in a nursing home.

I wish I had never heard of this company. Their T&C's would tie a top lawyer in knots. So I have set a monthly reminder on my phone to skip. If everyone did this to make sure that they skip in time, this bunch of cowboys would be riding off into the sunset quick-time. Also has anyone noticed that the "skip" function is really slow to use - it has taken me 30 mins to get it to work. I thought it was a problem with the website or with my laptop, but NO because if you click on a sales link (on the same web page) it loads immediately, is this yet another tactic by JustScam to rip their customers off. If every unhappy customer skips every month they will soon be history. By the way I always skip by the 2nd of each month, that way if they try to f"*k you over by saying they are "experiencing technical difficulties" you still have time to stop them getting their grubby claws on YOUR money.

The same thing happened to me but I noticed on the first payment.
I've literally just got off live chat with them (also difficult to find amongst their blurb) they cancelled the VIP account whilst I was online and are refunding my £35 payment.
Using live chat didn't cost me anything and the consultant was very pleasant, so would recommend to anyone else this has happened to, to use the live chat option, rather than an expensive phone call.
I was also warned that if I purchased anything else to use the guest option (no discount) or the VIP Account would be re activated.
If anyone is looking for wardrobe items at good value for money price, I would recommend Sports Direct Online. They sell normal clothing and footwear along with the sporty things. I've just received eleven adult named brand items, footwear and clothing for the summer, from their current sale for under £60 including postage.
They have children's coats, shoes etc., at affordable prices.

Avoid this company, too confusing and frustrating to use as a member. Having to manage your points which is worth £35.00 for each 1 point. You are limited to the price of a product so as to avoid the extra Vat expense at the end of the choice made. Choice in product for price is limited. ie ; all jackets are "faux" and not real leather. Shoes - many out of prefered size or stock. Customer service - very poor - generic answer to any queries, automated email, giving the customer NO personal attention. And many customers join because of a tempting half price one time offer, mine was a pair of ankle boots for my daughter. Many do not realise that unless you pay attention to the JustFab site which you do not know you have joined - that the company removes £35.00 from your account EVERY month - unless you are aware that you need to go onsite and pay attention to find the "skip" command from the 1st to the 5th every and each month. So people find their accounts deminished after a few months resulting often in £200.00 pound mark. Mine was way higher. £700.00 whereby I had to recuperate in goods as getting a refund just too difficult. Roped in my sister and 2 neices as gifts to them as really did not need extra fashion goods. BEWARE AND AVOID.

I fell for this big time, clocked up over £1,000. Had not noticed just because I order from ebay and it did not highlight as a regular debit on my online account along with things like my car insurance and petplan ect. It was not until I analysed my bank statement and thinking this justfab is a regular feature and the same amount - £35.00. I ordered a pair of ankle boots for my daughter at half price £12.00 and this ended up as a £1,000 credit scenario to them. Because I have family, I treated the teenagers and nieces ect. Very poor choice, often out of stock or out of the size needed. No underwear, 2 swim suits when I last looked. What a con - really hidden way off doing business and so Not obvious.

Does anyone have UK contact details for this Just Fab company? I discovered recently they have taken £1855 from my paypal account without authorisation! I am a pensioner and had never heard of this company until 19th April when checking an out going payment from paypal there was £35 pre arranged payment taken out. When I investigated further it had been taken out each month for 41/2 years to the total of £1855! YES! I should have noticed but due to on going ill health I hadn’t fully checked and with all my other payments the £35 each month slipped through ! Paypal won’t do anything because there is a billing ID and I had to sort it out with Just Fab UK. Well......I think there customer service or lack of has been covered by the other contributors ! I’m speaking with people in the Philippines who can do nothing either by phone or email! They cannot find an account in my name, address or email....wonder why....maybe because I have never used their site?! I told them I want a fraud investigation and full refund immediately but it’s falling on deaf ears. The latest was we will pass on your information. They asked for my paypal statement which I sent and the last four digits of my card that the money was taken from....still they can’t find anything! I’m stressed and frustrated and don’t know what to do next to get someone who will take this seriously! It’s a lot of money to a pensioner and I reiterate I should have been more viligant but due to heavy medication I just could not focus properly. However at the end of the day it is WRONG that this can and has happened. Any advice would be greatly relieved ! Thank you!

Kate Hudson (the crap actress) is the co founder of Fabletics along with Don Ressler and Adam Goldenberg.

I signed up for Fabletics but the clothing is awful. Not very well made and the choices often out of stock giving you a very limited range to choose from.

They have also done this to my 14year old dd! She has cancelled her debit card and got another, hopefully it won't happen again as they were no help on the phone at all, robbing twats.

Be careful as even getting a new card they can continue to take the money if it is attached to the same account.

My DD accidentally signed up for it a couple of years ago but I got all the money back as she was too young to agree to the t&cs.

She did it again last year without realising and as it is a little used account of mine I didn't realise until 6 months payments had been taken. But during that time my card had expired and I had a new one with a different number. When I queried with bank they told me that type of agreement you 'sign' up to means they can continue to take the money from your account.

At the moment I am skipping every month for her and she is going to have to chose stuff to the value of £210 so she can at least get something to show for it.

Robbing bastards.

Is it just me or does anyone else find this Mumsnet difficult to use...I am unable to see messages that have supposedly been responded to posts I have sent.

That's bloody ridiculous!! As dd hasn't had £35 at any one time in her account I don't know if they would take it from her new card. What actual knobs.

It’s a convoluted process clicking through different parts of the website to unsubscribe. I managed it but didn’t get the money back so ordered lots of stuff from the credit.
