I suffer from painful allergic reactions on my face - I had a thread on this two weeks ago. Now wondering if nail polish is a trigger. Anyone got experience of this?

I'm not exactly allergic, but when the dry patches on my face are even the tiniest bit sore, any use of nail varnish or nail varnish remover makes them waaaay worse. I assume it's a reaction to the fumes on the raw skin.

i had some on my eye - like excema

took me ages to work out its some sorts of nail varnish. its something they thought was in my mascara, something that makes it bend. I worked out was nails in the end

I can feel nail polish when it's on It's very uncomfortable to the point of keeping me awake at night. My fingers get very sweaty as well. I assume this is some sort of sensitivity to nail polish ingredients.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it would definitely be in just some kinds of varnish as I remember I wore it in November and was fine.

Try and get 'big three Free' nail polish that doesn't have the 3 most toxic ingredients. Look online a lot of brands are changing their formulations.

I think Clinique's nail varnish is formulated for these very problems. There was loads about it on line when they launched it last year. It's lovely stuff too!Smile .
