Brora colours help please!

I've seen a beautiful cardigan in the Brora sale, but I've never had anything from there before, and the colour is described as 'turquoise'. Does anyone have any knowledge of Brora shades please? Is it likely to be bright or a softer colour?

Is it cashmere? They send colour swatches out with their catalogue so you could ask them to send one (though appreciate this might take too long). I will see if I can dig one out. They also have very helpful staff so you could try ringing them.

Hi there. I just looked at the cashmere colour swatch and spring /summer 2013 has a turquoise so assuming that is the one you are after. It is not bright, I'd say - a definite turquoise but with a softness about it. It's a pretty colour more pastelly than bright although being turquoise it's not really a pastel, iykwim. It looks nice! Hope that helps.

Thank you. It's in the sale so sounds like the right one. That's very helpful- I was hoping it would be a soft colour as I'm not sure I could pull off a really bright one. I just have to psych myself up to spend that much on a cardigan now!

I hope I've described in right. Their cashmere colours tend to be more muted than bright (I have stalked their Sloane square shop a fair bit). Though the purple was pretty bright. Their cashmere is great quality - I have a safari green hoody & a sand round neck (sale purchases!) both of which I love, and have to keep them wrapped up when not in use as cashmere is a moth magnet round here.

I felt guilty for days buying them btw, but have got over it now. Grin

I'm glad it's not just me! I'm debating between buying the turquoise lace one or a Pure Collection sensible navy one at half the price.

If the colour works on you go for the Brora one as you'll wear something you love more than something that's sensible & cheaper. (sad voice of experience).

That's what I'm just trying to decide, I've never really worn turquoise before. I have blonde hair and blue eyes (similar colouring to Amanda Seyfried) so maybe if it's soft it will work. I don't want to spend that much on something that's only 'ok' though.

Brora colours generally aren't too bright - they are often slightly marled and softened. And the quality is amazing, waaay better than Pure (which actually isn't bad at all, but not in comparison to Brora). Well, it was last time I ordered from there a couple of years ago.

Get both if you are concerned about colour - you'll never regret a piece of Brora knitwear.
