I am 50 and I love love love them. I used to wear Docs when I was a student in the 80's. I think it is about time I got another pair!

ChameleonCircuit · 24/01/2014 16:11

I'm 43 and considering these too, now. Thanks for the link randomfemale

Bexicles · 24/01/2014 16:22

Not to old at all! I love Docs, currently have my eye on thesewww2.schuh.co.uk/womens-dark-brown-dr-martens-triumph-aimile/1446436120/#ReviewsSection

Apatite1 · 24/01/2014 16:41

Why not, they look very comfortable and practical.

GetOnYourDancingShoes · 24/01/2014 17:21

I'm 50 and wear Docs a lot, in many different styles and colours.

Love them. So comfortable.

randomfemale · 24/01/2014 17:29

Well it's great to see that the vast majority of you are in favour 'cos I honestly didn't know whether I was being a bit drunk daft in ordering them last night. I've had an e-mail to confirm they have been despatched and winging their way so now I can't wait to be clomping around!

Thank you all for your input Thanks

You're never too old to dress like an Emo.

SabraCadabra · 24/01/2014 18:22

They're really lovely, I'd have a pair if I could afford them I'm almost 44. Never too old for docs. :)

mimiasovitch · 24/01/2014 18:43

I'm 40 and have my first pair in nearly 20 years. I certainly don't think you need to waif like to wear them though. I'm certainly not, and wear them with pretty frocks and aplomb Wink. I needed comfy shoes for work you see, and I couldn't quite face the crocs all the others wear. I now want more. There's a fabulous glittery pair with my name on!

randomfemale · 24/01/2014 20:19

mimiasovitch I haven't been waif like for the last 6 years. Always was a straight up and down sort (no waist,no hips, average norks) now I still have no waist, Huge norks and a bit of a bum. Oh I am so going to enjoy those Docs - maybe it will lead to ditching my obsession with sky high heels [hopefull]

mimiasovitch · 24/01/2014 21:24

Once you start....it's a slippery slope. Your toes won't be happy in anything else ??

Scarletohello · 24/01/2014 21:27

£110.00?? Gosh I hope they are bloody comfy...

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 24/01/2014 23:13

Have a look on the Schuh sale. There are some dms on there. (Including my lovely red ones)

randomfemale · 24/01/2014 23:14

Scarletohello I linked to that site cos it was a good picture

I actually paid £84 from a different site but their pictures were a bit shite. I have a pair of Louboutins (£550.00) and a pair of Choos (same price as Louboutins) I like shoes. I have the income. What's your fucking problem??

OP posts:
Scarletohello · 25/01/2014 00:31

Random

There's no need to be rude

Boring shoes anyway...

ChameleonCircuit · 25/01/2014 10:43

Random - where did you get them for £84 if you don't mind sharing?

randomfemale · 25/01/2014 20:42

ChameleonCircuit they were from Mastershoe-Myshu. On their site they are £89 but I had a voucher code that brought them down to £84.

Scarletohello sorry if you thought I was being rude. Yes I suppose shoes ARE boring to peeps who aren't into shoes.

JoyceDivision · 25/01/2014 20:49

I've just been out onj a work do..my evenoing footwear was 16 hole navy dr martens...go for it...just be prepared to go throug thebreaking in phase Grin

HarrietSchulenberg · 25/01/2014 20:58

I have a similar pair and I am 43. I love dms and have worn them all my adult life.

Tigerstripes · 25/01/2014 21:14

There's nothing wrong with being surprised by the price of something.

Re the shoes: I think they're nice, especially the furry lining. I am still distressed by my parents refusing to buy me proper DMs when I was younger as they were too expensive. I had to make do with a copycat pair from M&S. Was terrible. I've seen a grey and pink tartan pair recently I'd like. With ribbon laces. Mmm.

randomfemale · 25/01/2014 21:21

Tiger it was the furry lining that really drew me in! That grey & tar

tan pair sound awesome - go for it.

I should not have jumped down Chameleon's throat - I do apologise for that.

OP posts:
randomfemale · 25/01/2014 21:23

That should have read Scarlet's throat. Durrrrrr.......

OP posts:
watfordmummy · 25/01/2014 21:26

Same age, might even order!

echt · 26/01/2014 05:51

Well, I'm 60 this year and have worn lace-up DMs of the policewoman variety since my mid-20s: think opening sequence of the original "The Bill". :o They are still going. I wear slip-on DMs at home, and have gigantic clumpy DM sandals, too.

The boots you show are lovely, OP.

No, you're not too old. Ever.

mathanxiety · 26/01/2014 06:43

Envy I want a pair.
