Am I alone in really disliking animal print?

I really, really dislike it. I'm happy to see it on others but I just can't see myself in it. I got given a lovely Lola Rose scarf for my birthday but it's an animal print design so I'll never wear it.

Style and leopard print do not go together in the same sentence Single Grin

ginzillas · 24/01/2014 21:28

And breton stripes and leopard print have a place in the same wardrobe - both as neutrals! But not in the same outfit...

ginzillas · 24/01/2014 21:28

KATE MOSS IS STYLISH AND SHE WEARS LEOPARD PRINT.
There.

ToysRLuv · 24/01/2014 21:30

I think the problem I have with leopard print is that to me it (most of the time) looks like the wearer wants to scream: "Yeah! I'm soo sexy me! Look, I'm a free spirit, practically an animal: Raaargh! Meaow.. Raaaaargh!" That's it articulated.. Blush Grin

SinglePringle · 24/01/2014 21:36

SirChenin when it comes to the Teresa May kitten heel pump style of leopard print I would agree with you. You win, hands down.

When it comes to a hint a la my style described above? You are wrong.

Soz about that. Grin

4paws · 24/01/2014 21:36

MrsCB It isn't about how anyone 'styles' it. I just think it all looks awful. There's much I like about Ms Moran as it happens. But if someone walks towards me in leopard print, my first thoughts will always be "Ugh. Nasty, cheap, trampy" But it's their clothes, their choice

SinglePringle · 24/01/2014 21:37

SirChenjin apols for the incorrect spelling of your name.

escargot · 24/01/2014 21:37

Do the leoparders all have Bretons as well I wonder Hmm

Lighten up mrsap we've been having fun up until now Grin Start your own leopard appreciation thread if you like!

I'm still waiting for back2 to share her leopard skin trews Grin

Wow. Has someone actually suggested I'm trampy Shock

Am I flattered or insulted, I just can't decide Wink

And it is all about styling. But some people I guess just don't get that Sad Wink

SirChenjin · 24/01/2014 21:47

I am the gift that keeps on giving Grin

SirChenjin · 24/01/2014 21:48

Yeah - the ones who wear animal prints Grin

Mrsap · 24/01/2014 21:53

Fair enough. Thinking about it I probably did come across as if I should lighten up....but really, trampy?

It's the judging that amazes me. I just hope all those judging (as opposed to having an opinion) are immaculately turned out?

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/01/2014 21:53

Yes, someone have a word with Kate Moss et al about their dreadful style. Wink That poor deluded style icon. Bless her. She should get herself down to white stuff and buy some nice flystuff boots.

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/01/2014 21:55

They are Mrsap - a bit dull but not trampy in the slightest. But then as Bonsoir once said 'I'd be rather mutton than mumsy' Wink

SirChenjin · 24/01/2014 21:56

Who decides someone is a style icon, I wonder? Confused It's all subjective, innit?

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/01/2014 21:58

Of course, but Kate Moss is a pretty long established style icon isnt' she?

Mrsap · 24/01/2014 21:58

True Mrs CB. Give me mutton over mumsy any day. Just my opinion though!

nicky2512 · 24/01/2014 21:59

DD (12) loves it, always has. I will never forget her crying her eyes out in Next when she was only tiny for a leopard print top. She was sobbing for the lovely "cheetah top". Yes I did buy it. Hated it.

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/01/2014 22:01

Its all just our opinions Smile

I don't feel the need to call other people trampy/frumpy etc for what they wear though just because its not to my own personal taste.

scottishmummy · 24/01/2014 22:03

Love animal prints

MrsCampbellBlack · 24/01/2014 22:04

Looks at sm in new favourable light [like she cares] Wink
