Steam rooms.

So this is I guess a stupid question. But what is the actual point of steam rooms? I have never really liked them much as I hate being too hot but I just joined a new gym and wondering if I should be giving them a go again. But for what reason? I have really bad skin, will it help it or make it worse?

Bump, because I've been wondering too!

They are lovely and relaxing after a workout? I've never thought of it from an S&B POV.

Is steam good for your skin?

That is what I am wondering. I toyed with putting this in exercise but decided on here instead as I've only been doing exercise for a total of one whole day I thought a namby pampy steam room question may be frowned upon!

Steam allegedly encourages your pores to rid themselves of nasties. I never quite believed it but it's nice and warm in the steam and some places have lovely scented steam pods (e.g. Bath spa).
