Short hairstyle for fat face

I've currently got shoulder length hair but want to go shorter. I'm big so want something that will suit a round face and chubby cheeks. I've got very, very thick, quite straight, dark ash blonde hair.
I'm hoping for something fairly low maintenance. My hair is so thick that it takes ages to wash and blow dry and then sometimes straighten. So hoping shorter will reduce this.
Any style ideas for me mumsnet? How short to go?

Are you sure you want to go short? I would advise visiting a hairdresser for advice. My opinion is that only those with small elfin faces suit really short hair. The crucial thing (apparently) is the angle of your jawline - the sharper it is - the shorter you can go. Having a big face myself (not fat), I know I really don't suit short hair ( have done it in the past). I think you need a little width at the side of your face, a style that lifts away from your face. All that said, sometimes it just comes down to your personality and if you have the chutzpah - then just go for it!
