Stuck zip (leather jacket)

The zip on my leather jacket is well and truly stuck. I've tried pulling it, pulling it apart (some of the metal zip teeth came off), dragging it etc etc. Any ideas what I can do?

Have you tried rubbing chalk on it? That is supposed to work I believe.

If some of the teeth came off you'll need a new zip anyway so take it to an alterations place.

Will try chalk - thank you.

Pencil is said to work but as previously mentioned,it will need a new zip.Drycleaners tend to be cheap.

My dry cleaner said she was worried about ripping the jacket hence trying to do it myself. This was to dp though and I'm not entirely sure what was said. Chalk didn't do anything. Am going to try pencil then give up and take it to the dry cleaner myself. Silly thing is I don't use the zip anyway and always wear it undone. I only did it up to see what it looked like.

Rub a candle over it. The wax should help. I have a zip on a pair of trousers I have to wax every time I wear the.

A big blob of vaseline and very gently pulling the fabric that was caught in the zip worked for me in the past.
