Shoes and dresses

I'm looking for some guidance, and advice please! I've been searching about here for the collective wisdom on what to wear with dresses once it (if it ever) becomes summer this year, and my new habit of dresses or skirts with opaques and black leather boots is no longer viable. I haven't worn anything but horrible mumsy clothes for seven years (since first dd was born) but now I've finally lost a shed load of weight (total five stone) and so my whole wardrobe is changing, and I feel like a novice. I love wearing dresses now, but certainly don't have boden-catalogue legs, and am 44.
I don't like really flat shoes with dresses or skirts (or rather I find very light flat shoes like ballet pumps uncomfortable), so I'm going in the direction of wedges or something for spring summer shoes with dresses. What else is nice for summer dresses?
And tights? A must at my age I guess unless the dress is very long? (And I'm sick of totally covering up as I have for years)
I hadn't ever considered (never even really noticed) nude fishnets, and found lots of references to them here. So decided to do some research but oh my god, do not google nude fishnets. That's all I can say. (Traumatised)

I always wear glossy nudes with summer dresses unless it's Mediterranean hot.

I wear my summer dresses with comfortable wedge pumps, slingback sandals, or wedge espadrilles for every day, and higher heels for everything else.

Glossy nudes - another potential good idea, thanks. But also probably not a good idea to google that...
Espadrilles: great idea.
Thanks!

I don't think anyone should be forced to wear tights in hot weather!Shock Dress according to the temperature for goodness sake and if you have nice legs, show them off. Your attitude, posture and for want of a better word, swagger, is what will age you or make you seem younger. Put your head up and don't be oppressed. 44 is not old.

I like Wedgy mules - think sex kitten.
