My hair is curly and goes frizzy in the rain .. I like to walk my buggy but I get put off when I know I will look a right mess at the other end .. Tia

I quite like the look of this one but I don't own it.

LadyMud · 17/01/2014 19:35

Do you like these Seasalt hats?

bishboschone · 17/01/2014 20:34

Do you think those styles look ok?

I have the same problem with frizzy hair. I have one of these www.olney-headwear.com/ladieswax.html Mine's the Lizzie style - with the brim pulled down, my hair stays completely dry. If you're after something brighter, how about these? [[https://www.proppatoppa.co.uk/waterproof-hats.php

Fozzleyplum · 17/01/2014 21:11

Oops - I'll try that link again. www.proppatoppa.co.uk/waterproof-hats.php

I have a Barbour waxed cotton one that I don't feel embarrassed in. So much less hassle than a brolly unless it's torrential rain.

Buggy and umbrella don't mix well .. It defiantly needs to be waterproof to the max otherwise it will sort of defeat the object .. Smile

i love those proppa toppa hats - have been looking forever for waterproof hats that don't age me by 30 years.

I have just started walking my daughter to kindergarten and so far the weather has been so foul that I resemble a drowned rat every day - any idea on how to keep dry but at the same time look like a normal human being?! Umbrella a big no-no as buggy to push and pre-schooler hand to hold :-)

burnishedsilver · 18/01/2014 00:06

;-)

Rosencrantz · 18/01/2014 00:08

Judging by the links posted, the answer is no!

bishboschone · 18/01/2014 15:19

I was thinking the same thing...!! I may go to a outdoor clothing place and try some on.

I love the Barbour ones, and would particularly love a beige coloured one to go with my trench coat - and I suit the style!

But

I really would stick out like a sore thumb in this town, and no i don't think I have the guts to just do it wimp

Thing about frizzy hair is, if it is longer than shoulder like mine, how can a rain hat cover the longer parts from the rain and humidity anyway?
In winter I have to wear a beanie and then tuck my longer hair inside my coat.

In spring this would look daft.

My solution?
In spring and summer I wear a cagoule. So the hood goes up and I look like a giant condom.

ToastedTeacakes · 18/01/2014 15:31

there's supposed to be a dash before i wrote the word 'wimp'

A leather akubra….does not leak and looks fab.

burnishedsilver · 18/01/2014 19:13

I prefer a coat with a hood.

SantanaLopez · 18/01/2014 19:15

Surely a hood is better than a hat?

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 18/01/2014 19:37

This Barbour rainhat is quite nice.

I sympathise. My hair goes frizzy in the wet. I've only got to step outside on a damp day and it looks shit. I find just the damp winter air is enough, I don't even have to be rained on.

I love hats and found a great small company at a show I attendee look up www.peakandbrimhats.co.uk
Great rain hats , adjustable sizing inside and also do wax in very fashionable styles
And great holiday ones too, I love mine
Peak and Brim Hats
Let me know what you think x

hollyisalovelyname · 04/02/2014 21:54

Fozley that hat website is brilliant thank you

Trumpton · 05/02/2014 02:17

Ooh I like the Peak and brim site. I fancy a Chelsea hat. I hate hoods as I fell blinkered in them.

Trumpton · 05/02/2014 02:18

feel FFS !

FreakinScaryCaaw · 05/02/2014 02:26

I had a barbour rain hat, costs me £45 in August. But I can't find it now Sad It looked good though.
