I am wondering if anyone could help I am nearly 26. I have never had any sort of regime with my skin I usually just wash my face with soap and take make up of with baby wipes. But I am now starting to get worried my face looks like it has lots of little holes in it which I assume are pores how do I get rid of this.

Also what should I be doing day and night are there any good products to that I should be using.

One other thing should I be exfoliating all of my skin and how often if so.

Sorry for being a bit clueless just want to start too take care of myself.

I'm 10 years older and that's my New Years resolution to take better care of my skin, I have those holes as well more noticeable when I put concealer on, I bought l'oreal face wash toner and moisturiser but it nips my face a bit also bought superdrug night cream and it's brilliant going to try the rest of there products too,

Someone on here will help you they have fab knowledge Smile

Why kind of skin do you have? Dry? Oily? Normalish?

Lostinmythoughts · 17/01/2014 08:08

I would say normal.

I think the Liz Earle system is great, you can buy online or there are stores selling her products.

They are very wholesome and gentle but very effective. Good price too, just bought a set online and there is a good offer on.

I swear by Dr. Haushka it's expensive (but not like the advertised brands which are mostly shxx ,you pay for the adverts and boxes!).

It comes in different types for different types of skin, smells lovely and is natural and also lasts a long long time e.g. their cover stick has lasted me over 2 years and I've used it nearly every day.

Also your skin is affected mainly by what you PUT IN your body Grin so drink plenty of filtered water and fresh foods.

You need a cleanser and a moisturiser to begin with.
I recommend No7 hot cloth cleanser, this will remove eye and face make up and cleanse.
Next a simple basic moisturiser. At this stage don't spend much. Use it morning and night.
You need to commit to this regime for about a month, the time it takes for your skin to renew itself.
After 4/5 weeks assess your skin. is it spotty, dry, improved at all,
If you have found it easy to cleanse and moisturise you may now want to adjust your moisturiser according to skin concerns. You can get further recommendations on this board.

With facial regimes you often hear toners, scrubs, serums, oils, masks, and so on being mentioned. They have their place but going from soap and water to a 4 or 5 step regime will be too much and you will be likely to give up.

You should see and feel quite an improvement in your skin just by better cleansing/moisturising.
