Wonder if anyone can help before my poor blokey freezes to death when this winter finally gets really cold...
My DP (male) is tall and has wide shoulders and long arms, but a nice trim, (firm, taut, mmm...) middle/waist/tummy. He really needs a good winter coat, but we can't find anything to fit him well.
He needs to look reasonably sharp for work, but he doesn't wear a suit and doesn't really want a coat that looks like he should be wearing a suit under it otherwise I'd have him in a sharp kind of modern Sherlock Holmes number with the collar turned up.
His profession is sort of arty, so a bit of style would be great and he could even go a bit eccentric if he happened to like it. Feel free to suggest anything with a bit of edge, I don't know where to go for that in men's clothing at all.
But mostly just needs to be long enough I think to cover his bum, smart/stylish enough to look like he made an effort and wool or something thick and good quality to keep him warm waiting around for night busses home once this winter really gets going, if it ever does.
IME long arms are often the deciding factor i.e. the bit that most frequently doesn't fit, hence the "gorilla" title - anyone know at least any brands that tend to be cut long in the arms?
No idea about budget, how much do men's coats cost? But at least he isn't going to grow out of it, so... suggest away...
