I need very particular earrings

Hello stylish Mumsnetters.

I am looking for a pair of earrings. They are a very special present for a special anniversary. The lady is tall, in her 60s, quite stylish, a funny mix of terribly proper with a dash of quirky.

Large.
Not dangly.
Not remotely old fashioned, not even in a round again or ironic way.
Not fussy or delicate or sweet.

Probably silver and gold together.

Must be stunning or unusual or classic or, I don't know, special.

Budget between £60 - £80.

If anyone can point me towards a good website or two I'd be terribly grateful.

Shhthebabyisasleep · 15/01/2014 17:15

Thanks Sunday.

Kat I am a bit wary of Etsy.

Silver By Mail are good. I've bought jewellery from them quite a few time and been pleased.

I'm currently coveting several pairs from Sarah hickey www.notonthehighstreet.com/search.html?page=5&search=find&term=Sarah+hickey&utf8=?

I had one pair for Christmas but I have a teensy problem when it comes to earrings.

mimiasovitch · 15/01/2014 18:17

Link fail. Try again. Sarah hickey

Dawndonnaagain · 15/01/2014 19:48

This guy makes beautiful stuff. I have ordered from him before and have been very happy, as has my sister who is the usual recipient of his work!

ContinentalKat · 15/01/2014 19:53

Why did I have to click on the V&A link? I really, urgently need new earrings. Now.

Shhthebabyisasleep · 16/01/2014 07:07

Oh wow. You guys! Hank you.

The V&A! What a great idea.

The Sarah Hickey stuff is beautiful.

Off to explore the rest of the links now...

this girl is a wonderful designer for those who love a bit of quirk! Not quite fully on spec but worth a look nonetheless Grin

QueenThora · 16/01/2014 09:46
