How to look younger....makeup tips?

Soo, just wondering if any of you guys have any makeup tips so I can look younger facially.....especially my eyes......I've recently realised I'm too old for the bat winged winehouse look and noticed its really ageing on my chum....I've started to pare down my makeup, so you know, heaps of makeup but a bit everywhere, but hugely subtle.

But
what
Where
How?

I think you can still wear liquid eyeliner, just a thiner line then usual and none or less on the bottom line.use a good primer and/or a neutral eyeshadow underneath to disguise any veins or red coloration. Perhaps get an illuminator for your skin and add a little bit under/over your blush to fake a youthful glow. In the same vein, don't use a lot of cakey powder and keep things as dewy as possible with cream based foundation and blusher. I don't know what lipstick you normally use but a stain is good to add some colour and won't slid into any mouth wrinkles (if you have any!).

less product around the eyes, keep concealer just to dark areas and don't apply it up to the lash line

matte eyeshadows are good. I use a great Louise Yound pallet and Rae Morris has a great youtube video to show how to get a lifted eye to counteract the droop!

natural thicker eyebrows - no harsh lines

something on the waterline - either a nude pencil like Illamsaqua Vow or use something dark, such as navy, teal, grey or brown - this counteracts the redness

bb creams (I use the bobbi brown one and a korean one but the boots one is great too) rather than foundations, whose pigment eventually settles after 5+ hours

concealer around mouth and nose

cream blushers, such as Becca's or Daniel Sandlers

Becca shimmering skin perfector (No 7 do a similar one)

lipliner and MLBB creamy lipsticks and glosses

along with a large dose of acceptance of change and eye bags and wrinkles - can't achieve 30 something skin and besides, it would look weird.

Using very natural fresh shades can take years off you.

I use a peachy blusher Orgasm by Nars (obviously the shade depends on your colouring) which I also use above my eyes (not as eye-shadow but to give colour definition).

I changed black eyeliner for brown or taupe, use Dior Iconic mascara in brown for day.

A primer and good foundation get more important as you get older. I use Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector and DiorSkin Nude foundation with Dior Skinflash as a highlighter.

Update your products.
If you have been using the same shade/make of any product for years, it probably needs changing.
It sounds so simple but many people find that perfect lipstick/eyeshadow and are still buying it years later. They never think about how they have aged or changed hair colour etc.
Maybe try and change one thing at a time, get rid of the heavy eyeliner, get used to seeing yourself without it, does everything else look ok?
You may not need a complete overhaul of your makeup bag after all.

I had the same moment of clarity a few months ago.

I've begun wearing
Blusher
Lipliner (v subtle nude)
Auberge mascara
Barely perceptible layer of liquid eyeliner..,before it was a bit Cher Lloyd
Highlighter
Waterline in white, not sure that does much though

And I've begun To moisturise using Lizzy arden

If you have the option I would strongly recommend visiting the makeup counters of either Bobbie brown or Laura mercier. I went to BB for an update and they were just brilliant, no hard sell but simple easy tips to update and give a softer younger look. LM too, not sat at theirs but have sought advice for specific items and would rank them as highly as BB IMO. You'll most likely need to book, and be specific in what you want.

As well as actually going to get make up done look on you tube at a few people's vids - Wayne Goss does some great stuff the more mature amongst us, ditto hot and flashy (American), uppies beads is another personal fave although her colouring is different to mine. Pixiwoo did a make up o their mum who has a modern and mature channel.
