Primer?

Can anyone help I've never worn make up but decided I think I should start but not a lot, I bought the jml minerals and I actually like it, it's not fussy to put on
I put a touch of concealer on any blemishes first but I keep seeing primer being used by people but I've not got a clue what it is?
Do I need to use it before putting on makeup?

Yes, it goes on first, it evens out skin and makes your makeup last far longer. Smashbox is the best one I've used, I did my own wedding makeup and I looked as fresh as a daisy at midnight with it.

I've tried it and personally I think it's a con dreamed up by the cosmetic industry to part us from our money. Same goes for BB creams, anti ageing stuff and all that other cod-scientific bollocks. Foundation is supposed to even out skin tone and, if it doesn't, you're using the wrong type. But hey that's just my opinion
