Comfy trainers on a budget?

I'm after a pair of comfy trainers to wear for work as I'm on my feet for pretty much 8 hours non stop. I really like all the Nike running shoes but i'm a tight bitch I think they're a tad expensive. I've just been looking at some Reebok easytone trainers - not the prettiest shoes I've seen but they're reasonably priced. If anyone owns a pair how do you find them in terms of comfort?

TIA

My oh has worked for 5 different sports footwear companies including nike, Adidas and reebok. He has had to wear these brands for work and is adamant that for comfort reebok come are by far the best. That said I have got the easy tones and I would not overly rate them for comfort but I hate wearing trainers

Ok great, thanks. I'm not a trainers fan myself but my converse are uncomfortable for that length of time and same with boots

Comfiest trainer I've ever worn is Nike air max but I'm lucky I've got small feet I can shop in the kids department

monkeysmama · 12/01/2014 22:34

Nike Air Max are very comfortable indeed. I've worn them for years and everything I change, I regret it. Perhaps worth going to a shop to try a selection.

monkeysmama · 12/01/2014 22:34

Sorry, every time I change.

GlitzAndGiggles · 12/01/2014 23:12

I've got size 7 feet :(. I saw some nike air max in the office sale but they didn't have my big foot size lol. Yeah think i'll have to go and bother shop staff to try a load on

Do you have a nike outlet near you? You can pick them really cheap in there, I don't know if the outlet has a website or not

GlitzAndGiggles · 13/01/2014 08:30

No I don't my nearest sports shops are JD sports, office and sports direct. I'll have a check online though thanks

I wear a 7 too. It's worth trying a 6 in Nikes too as some styles fit large.

Aquelven · 13/01/2014 13:29

Google Sports Direct store locator to find your nearest branch. My Ds buys all his from there, the makes you are thinking of ( plus lots of others) at a fraction of the price in the shops. I bought a pair of Sketchers before Christmas for £24.

I am a trainer geek. I have over 70 pairs. The most comfortable trainers are Nike Air Max and New Balance 574s. You can often get new trainers at decent prices on eBay.

MrsMarigold · 13/01/2014 16:55

I got some Puma trainers on the sale very comfy and £28 - see the puma website sign up for the newsletter and you usually get more off.

GlitzAndGiggles · 13/01/2014 17:12

Ok thanks Mrs I quite like the Puma suede trainers but i'll take a look

I work in an industry where I've lived in trainers for the past 10 years. Just for wearing cos I'm on my feet as opposed to exercise I prefer Nike or Puma. Adidas are to narrow for my fat feet

melliebobs · 13/01/2014 17:18

But at the mo I'm I'm some retro New Balance ones n I Luvs them!

sisterofmercy · 13/01/2014 17:24

Sketchers GOWalk shoes and trainers are like little clouds for your feet.

specialsubject · 13/01/2014 17:35

with size 7s, look in the men's section. No stupid pink bits, built to last and usually cheaper.

GlitzAndGiggles · 13/01/2014 17:57

I like all the stupid pink bits lol but they have to be black for work. I've seen some nice black air max with a bit of sky blue on ebay. Gonna start bidding :)

I've got men's nike air force the high top ones but they're too big so I have to do the strap really tight which then hurts my ankles. Hmm loving the puma's I've seen too...

Melliebobs I remember owning a pair of New Balance trainers as a kid and got the piss ripped out of me because they weren't a pair of the latest £120 shoes. Now I see loooooads of people in New balance!
