44G strapless bra - does it exist?

PsychicPaper · 12/01/2014 20:27

I am getting married in a few weeks. I have a corseted strapless dress, but think I would feel more supported with a bra too.

Anyone know if they make them in my size?

Fig leaves have them. Are you sure that is your correct size? Where were you measured?

DolomitesDonkey · 12/01/2014 20:37

I agree, get a "bra intervention" from the ladies here, I doubt very much you're a 44 back. You might well be a 40K or something like that! Grin What I mean is, with a 44 back, a GG is actually not that big - does that make sense?

DrNick · 12/01/2014 20:47

i cannot imagine any bra could to that work tbh

are oyu SURE you are a 44?

addictedtosugar · 12/01/2014 21:21

Some in figleaves
What is the actual measurement in inches of a tape measure put straight under your boobs? ie where the band sits?

Clargo55 · 12/01/2014 21:29

Are you able to post your measurements just to check? Taut under bust and then dangle forward and measure across bust loosely

i dont have a tap measure to hand

but i had a few bras from rigby and Peller in the autumn, and they are 44G

i am a size 22 so i think it is possible my back is that broasd

It is possible and rigby are normally pretty good but it's worth checking...I'm a 14-16 although size charts disagree and I'm a 30 back. Depending on budget you could consider having a corset made to go underneath-I had to do it myself as a few years ago I simply could not find a bra to wear under my dress. Felt amazing too!

SorrelForbes · 13/01/2014 09:15

I do rate R&P (the service alone is wonderful) but they put my DM in a 36 and she's a size 14/16 and they've fitted me as a 32 and I measure 29". It's so dependant on the fitter and also the brand/style.

I am a size 20/22 and my back size is 36 or 38 depending on bra style

PsychicPaper · 13/01/2014 16:47

a corset would be great, but way over budget. Blush

the dress is a sonsie, and is boned, with serious support inside, so perhaps it is just a mental issue

I'd definitely stick with Rigby and Peller advice. I'm a great fan and always go there. Can you get to a branch?

I don't find the size surprising as I'm a size 22 and all my bras ( Prima Donna, from R and P) are 44F.

PsychicPaper · 13/01/2014 19:50

they dont have any strapless in my size

think i will buy a few different size from the retailers suggested and see how they work out.

thanks Smile

There's an incredible German brand who do good solid (with German engineering Wink) bras in this size at not bank-breaking sizes. It's something like "ulla" (def not ulla popken) - ulla desous? Never had a bad bra from them - they're the rolls Royce of bras.

If you give your measurements here, the interventionists will be able to help and in my experience they run true to size and do nice wedding lingerie.

BaronessBomburst · 14/01/2014 09:35

Hello Donkey! Will I be able to buy those bras local to where I live, i.e. try them on, or will it be mail order only again?
