cabin bag recommendations please

I need a cabin bag suitable for work trips. I usually check in a bag and then have my laptop bag with purse, essentials in as my one piece of carry on luggage. But I have a journey comin up where I won't have time to collect hold luggage in time to catch onward transport.

So, I need something that can accommodate clothes, shoes, toiletries etc for a few days, laptop preferably in separate section so I don't have to unpack bag on arrival in office to get to it, small handbag for money, tickets, passport etc so I can have that with me easily accessible but pack into cabin bag when boarding so I only have the one piece of luggage. Not wanting to spend a lot as don't travel that often.

Needs to be wheeled and not too heavy as I have a bad back so heaving into overhead locker could be an issue.

Any solutions?

This is my cabin luggage for work trips and I absolutely love it.

this is mine ,really light! small but plenty of room inside. It's beautiful. Even packed, I can lift it into the overhead bins.

This kept me company on many a trip when I was a well traveller woman of mystery. Before becoming a well worn mummy.

BikeRunSki - that's a good practical one. The hard ones look good but aren't so practical and they are too heavy. You're only allowed about 7kg hand luggage aren't you so taking up nearly 2.5 kilos with a case only leaves you with 4.5 kilos.

And if you fly easyjet make sure it smaller than usual. Abin size as they have new rules

I have a Briggs and Riley wheeled bag. They are excellent and dh uses it also. However not cheap! But if you are using regularly its def worth it
It has a front compartment I can put laptop in, and a suit carrier inside if you need something like that ( keepa dresses crease free also)

However if I'm just going overnight I just take a regular handbag sized bag . Pop laptop in one side ( mac air so slim) and a change of clothes in the other. That's the easiest way to travel if you have the option

Samsonite does some wheeled cabin bags with two main zipped compartments: one for work and the other for clothing etc. Solves problem of knickers falling out when you reach in bag for a file/laptop.

Thanks all going to look at all these options in detail tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me re weight, laptop and bag combined may already take up most of allowance without clothes, shoes etc.

wheels add a load of weight, and only work in airports where there are trolleys anyway.

find something lightweight that will fit the laptop and go from there.

I use a rimowa IATA approved cabin bag. Very hard wearing, and I can hammer any dinks out of the aluminium.

Tripp do a nice one which is fabric. however for other trips I use a cheapy animal print one I got in Ibiza which is soft/hard and the bigger end of the range.

the Tripp I hate to say it but my cat and her belongings would barely fit in there let alone my stuff for a week!

oh mine is wheeled and super light. fits Ryan Airs' nazi cabin sizes...

I like the Samsonite but would get in sales....

I've got this one (and matching bigger ones). The wheels are smooth and you can spin it :)
