Blue ankle boots

MrsPeacockDidIt · 06/01/2014 15:53

I'm hoping you clever S&B ladies can help with my quest for the perfect blue ankle boot.

So have I have bought and returned 4 different pairs:

  1. my heel raises out too much (next sludge boots)
  2. same problem (ash spiral)
  3. Esprit (colour was too grey)
  4. M&S (too chelsea boot and black heel)

Today I received what the nearest thing I have found to what I want, which are these hudson

sorry if that link doesn't work, it's my first attempt.

These are almost perfect for height, heel, colour and material BUT they have gold zips and so won't go with anything I wear as I'm a silver only girl.

So has anyone see anything similiar to these in their travels ??

I have just bought these, waiting for them to arrive.

This is a tough call. I've been looking for the same and not found it. Will watch this thread with interest.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 06/01/2014 19:15

Ah thank you but fusspot that I am, they are too high in the leg and the heel is too high.

Bump for any evening viewers.

I thought these looked quite nice?

MrsPeacockDidIt · 06/01/2014 20:02

Some great ideas here.

The boden ones and the acne ones are just a bit high on the heel and the boden heel is a bit pale. The acne one are gorgeous but rather glad the heel isn't quite right as they are a bit out of my price range.

The other one is a bit slouchy.

I'm so fussy - sob.

Password, I'm trying to order a v similar navy suede pair from Omodo, but it won't let me order to the UK... Argh! Any advice?

Plumpysoft · 06/01/2014 21:37

Password I like the Omoda ones. This thread is just at the right time. My friend from New York had the Hudson ones on this week when I saw her and they were lovely! I wanted silver zips though as I am a Winter (hoc)

MrsPeacockDidIt · 06/01/2014 22:00

Plumpy, they are so beautiful. I want silver zips as I'm a HOC blue spring !

I've just ordered these tan boots while I wait for my perfect blue ones to turn up.

Have you tried zalando? I bought some navy biker boots in september from there. They have lots of choice of brands and colours.

I agree about the hudson boots. Gorgeous, but what's with the gold zips?

quirkychick · 06/01/2014 22:05

I am a cool summer. Definitely need silver.

I have these and I love them!

lifesgreatquestions · 06/01/2014 22:37

Mrs p, you have great taste in boots!

burnishedsilver · 06/01/2014 22:58

Thanks to this thread I've just realised that I'm in dire need of navy ankle boots :-)

trickydickie · 06/01/2014 23:35

burn I know. I have ordered ankle boots in the Clark's sale and may cancel now as I clearly know nothing and navy ankle boots it has to be. Some of those ones are lovely but so out my price range.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 07/01/2014 06:35

Thanks Life.

I remembered another pair that didn't make it out the shop but may help others in their search,

jigsaw. Far too pointy for me and came up too high on the leg.

I won't give up though.

Seconding the White Stuff boots. Mine have hardly left my feet this winter. V comfortable, can walk miles, go with everything!

burnishedsilver · 07/01/2014 13:48

New at Marks and Spencer but as theres no zip, I suspect you may have the same problem with your heel lifting MrsPeacock.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 07/01/2014 14:01

ooh now burnished you may be on to something with those. I have other ankle boots that don't rise in the heel so they are worth a go. I need to return these to M&S tomorrow anyway (too chelsea boot) so I'll have a look at them. They are very similar to the original next ones I started out with.

OP posts:
MrsPeacockDidIt · 07/01/2014 14:02

I'm also going to give these a try as although they are a bit chelsea boot, they are a bit higher and with a zip !

OP posts:
burnishedsilver · 07/01/2014 14:12

These, from Monsoon might be a bit higher than what you have in mind. I'm going to have a look at them in the shop though. I think they might be good for Spring.

I have been looking for the perfect grey boots but I'm converted to navy now :-)

Mint velvet have a lot of navy clothes coming in for SS. I'd expect to see navy boots as part of the collection. I like their footwear.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 07/01/2014 14:50

Thanks Burnished but yes bit high and heel a bit too light coloured.

Grey was previous search before blue and I ended up with:

these rieker boots super comfy and great with casual trousers and dresses, and

these Jones for a slightly dressier look.

I have last years version of these from clarks too.

OP posts:
burnishedsilver · 07/01/2014 17:37

Thanks Mrspeacock. I particularly like the Jones ones. I'm now weighing up whether it's too late in the season to justify both navy and grey. Of course, that would definitely come under the heading of a first world problem.
