how to clean this blazer?

I loaned a black boucle material blazer (from zara) to a friend's daughter and it has come back to me stained and very smelly. They've offered to dry clean it for me but the sweaty smell etc has to be tackled with water I think and I get itchy from dry cleaning chemicals. So, how can I try to clean it? Would I get away with soaking it or using a delicates machine wash with bio/non-bio/cashmere laundry liquid? The blazer has some studs on it so I am hoping that they won't discolour.

(at the moment the jacket is unwearable so I am willing to take a calculated risk - any experiences would be great to hear about!)

I think I'd try hand washing with woolite and cold water.

Dry cleaning should get the smell out but that's not much use if you're allergic.

thanks I shall have a go: have learned my lesson and won't be lending clothes in future.
