Choosing glasses

I need to choose a pair of glasses and having tried on about 20 pairs I'm in need of some help. They all looked pretty awful I thought. How does one begin? I used to wear them (and hated my last pair which were chosen in a hurry). I have a longish/oval face - quite narrow - look vaguely like Imogen Stubbs crossed with Nicole Kidmsm but much less pretty and have low eyebrows. No bone structure to speak of and dark blind/reddish hair. Any guidance would be hugely welcome

Did you ask someone in the shop to help you? If they have a qualified dispensing optician they should be able to give you some advice.

I have fairly small, thin rimmed ones which are kind of a rounded off rectangular shape and are a muted purpley, grey colour and my face sounds a similar shape to yours but my hair is darker. DP helped me though as he works in an optician so knows all the stuff about where your eye should be on the lens and things I wasn't considering so do ask the staff.
