Look at this and then this. I am staggered!

For the first time ever, I prefer the cheaper one!

LittleTulip · 01/01/2014 21:54

Both awful

Curioustiger · 01/01/2014 21:54

Me too actually. And I knew that someone on here would check the fabrics because the style & beauty lot are obsessed with fabrics, don't get it myself but its clearly a thing and the Hobbs one is silk and cotton, whereas the other one has a high percentage of man made stuff!

That STELLA MCCARTNEY juper is not a jumper - its a "paneled wool-crepe top" With holes in the back and is minging.

I'm not staggered. Designer clothes have always cost a lot. I remember starting in bemusment at a £250 straw hat once, wondering....just why?

Curioustiger · 01/01/2014 21:56

Good point Lynette. Man made fibres AND holes. For £651 with an alleged RRP of £2k+.

No wonder it didn't sell, I bet they didn't stock it initially in all the sizes. So over fussy.

Bunbaker · 02/01/2014 06:40

They are both vile. £617 is a lot to pay for having long sleeves Smile

BikeRunSki · 02/01/2014 06:45

But they are not the same top, you can't just compare them like that. I was expecting links to identical garments, one with a high street label, one designer.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/01/2014 06:49

Magazines are always doing this. A 'minted' and 'skinted' version of a bag or pair of shoes, one designer and one high street and actually a lot of the time the high street one looks nicer (although the designer one might be better made?)

MadIsTheNewNormal · 02/01/2014 06:55

The Stella McCartney one will be beautifully made and beautifully shaped/cut but it doesn't change the fact that they are both heinous.

I bought the Hobbs one in the sale Grin but I sent it back as it was too big. Looked much better irl. Looked nice with black trousers and/or grey skinnies.
