I'm bored of winter boots and want to think about Spring.
Would these shoes look good with skinnies & a jacket?
I have leopard print ones but they seem a bit dated now.

I really like those. To me, they're classic not frumpy.

Whatevertheweather · 01/01/2014 13:52

I'd categorise those as shoes my mum would wear. Perfectly nice but not for me (she's 60 I'm 32)

Skinheadmermaid · 01/01/2014 13:57

I like them but they're quite formal. Are they for work?
Leopard print is never dated- its a neutral!

polyhymnia · 01/01/2014 14:06

I have several pairs of Hobbs ballerinas which I like. Wouldn't be drawn to those particular ones unless I really wanted something pretty formal for work.

I think animal print ones will still be around for foreseeable future - have become something of a classic.

dontcallmemam · 01/01/2014 14:10

OK, thanks.
They're not for work, just to wear with jeans. I keep reading on S&B that ballet flats are a good thing.
I'm mid 40s and have a horror of looking mutton. Mostly wear navy, grey & tan.

eurochick · 01/01/2014 14:11

Nice for work. A bit dull for with jeans, imo.

polyhymnia · 01/01/2014 14:17

I love ballerinas with jeans, but would go for some of the less 'worky' styles on the Hobbs site.

I like mine a bit funky/ with something a little bit different. My favourites are from Pretty Ballerinas. Also have, or have had, nice ones from L. K. Bennett, Geox, and Russell and Bromley. Some Boden ones OK too.

dexter73 · 01/01/2014 14:18

I like these slipper shoes.

AnythingNotEverything · 01/01/2014 14:19

These are better PURPLE-40&refpage=shoes-boots&view=2&searchpage=1&pagesize=18

Or these m.hobbs.co.uk/product-detail?productid=0213-K1A6-002H010&productvarid=0213-K1A6-002H010-BLACK-42&refpage=shoes-boots&view=2&searchpage=1&pagesize=18

The ones you linked to are a bit dull to wear with jeans. Not frumpy necessarily, but definitely dull.

AnythingNotEverything · 01/01/2014 14:20

First link again ...

AnythingNotEverything · 01/01/2014 14:21

How odd ... It was the Harriet Ballerina flats I was trying to link to, in a lovely mulberry colour.

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 01/01/2014 14:22

I don't like black ballerinas. Prefer pale colours, or perhaps a navy or leopard print.

dontcallmemam · 01/01/2014 14:34

Thanks so much.
I'm now searching for something a bit more funky. Hope I'm not too old!

The Pretty Ballerinas a really lovely but seem ££.

Not sure this link will work ...

Less frumpy, would go with your clothes, but of sparkle ... These are cheap but you can get better/more expensive versions.

I've just bought these

polyhymnia · 01/01/2014 15:30

The Clarks ones are not my personal taste - a bit too red (prefer berry colours) and blingy for me. But then I have a big Clarks prejudice, which lots of people on here don't share.

Think the Hobbs Harriet look very nice - have seen them in RL - but the reviews are a bit worrying as all refer to them being uncomfortable and you should be able to put ballerinas on and forget them.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 15:37

Sorry, but I really don't like the Clarks ones. The Hobbs ones in the OP are v worky looking. Don't like those Harriet ones either - they look cheap and super-shiny to me.

I honestly think that leopard print ballet shoes are not dated. I still like mine...but I like ankle boots and leather Converse even more!

These are nice from Hobbs

Or these

dontcallmemam · 01/01/2014 16:08

Remus both those Hobbs ones are out of stock.

I'm listening to all the advice.
How about these?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 16:09

Might be worth a call to local store?

SugarHut · 01/01/2014 21:32

Those first Hobbs ones are beautiful. Are they out of stock in your size? I'd get them.

polyhymnia · 01/01/2014 22:48

Like the two most recent ones posted from Hobbs if they can be tracked down. Those Ralph Lauren ones are way too fussy for my taste

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 01/01/2014 23:45

If you can find the Hobbs Bailey pumps grab them, I have a pair and they are really comfortable.

DH got me a pair of Bertie Momos pumps in dark tan before christmas... not too comfortable to begin with but great now.
