DIOR foundations? Anyone do?

On the hunt for the HG of foundations - am very pale skinned- and want something with moderate to full cover but light texture.

Can't do Chanel as too dark and too yellow, currently using Nars and Clarins which are ok though not 'perfect'.

I've got what I think is normal skin- not greasy, dry if I wash with water ( so don't ever) no spots or major blemishes, and no lines. But terrible purple under eye circles.

I use Diorskin forever. I like it, but I also like Bourjois healthy mix.
Currently using Bella Pierre mineral as I have psoriasis on my face and this is the only thing that will a) cover it and b) I don't react to.

I used to use Dior but found them too dark and yellow for me.

Laura Mercier Silk Creme is amazing. I'm very pale and the Rose Ivory shade is perfect.

I also got a bargain with Rimmel Wake Me Up in the Ivory shade. For a cheap foundation, it's excellent.

The great thing is that both of these have pink undertone shades.

I've used dior and hated it. Colour was odd, gave a strange look to my skin.
I second hyva in that rimmel wake me up is fab, I like the coverage, it's not cakey and gives a lovely finish.
I also like no7 stay perfect using the in store match thingy!

Jaffacakesallround · 01/01/2014 14:51

okay thank you.

The Rimmel one is too dark for me in ivory- about 2-3 shades too dark- and the No 7 matchy thing put me as the palest but even that was too dark - I bought one then gave it away!

I love Diorskin Nude. I use 010 during winter and 020 during summer and mix them during autumn and spring to get the right colour.
I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply it with.

You can read about the different colours here: www.temptalia.com/diorskin-is-my-new-favorite-foundation

Make sure to get a sample before buying to make sure it's the right product and colour/tone for you Smile

I'm currently using the Dior teint touch éclat newish one - in beige rose. Like you I'm very very pale skinned - was using Boots No 7 palest and it's very brown in comparison to the Dior one. I really like it - good even coverage, slightly dewy finish.

GeorginaWorsley · 01/01/2014 17:58

I've used Diorskin Forever but didn't rate it tbh.
I have tried samples of Diorskin Nude and that is better, but I prefer more coverage.
Am currently using Max Factor face finity 3 in 1 ,and it is lovely!
I usually use higher end,eg I have at various points tried
Estée Lauder Double wear and Double Wear Light
Lancôme Teint Miracle
Chanel mat lumiere
YSL touché éclat foundation
Claris Skin and Ever matte

Etc etc!
Favourites are YSL,Benefit Oxygen Wow and the afore mentioned Max Factor .

I use Diorskin Nude Creme Gel compact foundation and love it

OneMincePie2Many · 01/01/2014 18:48

I'm not pale, but I've recently started using the Dior BB cream and I've found it to be amazing!! Great, smooth, even, light coverage. I find it's better than the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser or my normal day-to-day Origins Vita Zing tinted moisturiser. Get a sample to try.

MrsMcGregor · 01/01/2014 21:59

I'm using Diorskin Nude at the moment and am quote happy with it. Like you, I have very pale skin - Chanel colours are all wrong, didn't like Laura Mercier, had a couple of gorgeous By Terry foundations but it was just too expensive at £60 a pop - Diorskin Nude was next best for me. Best to get some samples to try though - also try the newish YSL foundation - it was a close second to the Nude when I did the rounds of the makeup counters!

I tried Dior Forever for about a week, initially loved the finish it gave and the lasting power however in daylight I noticed that it had changed colour on me. It appeared about 2 shades darker once it had dried. As I had the palest shade I had to return it.

Currently using Revlon Colorstay (was previously a total foundation snob) and for £12 have been very pleasantly surprised.

SugarHut · 01/01/2014 23:30

YSL Touch Éclat foundation. Superb. Make sure you buy the application brush too and it will be flawless.

Philoslothy · 01/01/2014 23:37

I find Dior bit orange. Chanel is better. I am using Bourjois health mix at the moment which is great. I also like Estée Lauder double wear for work . I also have a benefit one that I quite like.

Next time I am going to try the YSL one.

netty36 · 02/01/2014 06:25

Estée Lauder invisible make up is really worth a go. It's quite runny and you need to give it a good shake but when applied with a foundation brush looks perfect. They have brought out an invisible powder too which is lovely but gives a less dewy finish.

Alwayscheerful · 02/01/2014 06:43

I have used a variety of expensive foundations but have settled on Borjois healthy mix, give it a go.
