Brushing teeth with bicarb

I read somewhere that brushing your teeth with bicarb of soda helps get rid of stains.

So I just tried it and I honestly think my teeth look a but whiter already and certainly feel very clean.

I wondered if anyone dies thus regularly? How often can you do it or can it damage the enamel?

Thanks

I do it but only once a week as the bicarb is very abrasive and can damage tooth enamel. I top up the effects with a whitening toothpaste (just a bog standard one like mcleans or something) if you are concerned about very stubborn stains or yellowing teeth, I would encourage you to see a dentist and get a proper scale and polish rather than risk damaging your teeth with overly abrasive home treatments

where do you get it from, Sonly?

sonlypuppyfat · 31/12/2013 00:38

You can buy it in capsules from health food shops my mum uses it for trapped wind. I usually pinch a few and you just break them open.
