How does Baujken sizing come up?

Really nice dress in their sale but they're sold out in my size (12). They've got it in a 10 and 14, I thought I would get both to try.

I'm 5'3" with boobs but slim hips and legs. Do their sizes come up big or small?

Long. Very very long. I am your height and everything baukjen is always comically long on me.

Maybe try a 10 and see if the tightness keeps it up a little?

DIddled · 30/12/2013 22:57

I am a curvy hippy size 12 and I buy a 12- if you are slim on the hip def try a 10 esp if rushed?

I have just ordered 2 x Bonnington dress and the Skater dress - I do love Baukjen!!

CointreauVersial · 30/12/2013 23:40

I'm after a Josephine dress, and not sure about sizing up (they don't have a 10) so watching with interest.

DIddled · 31/12/2013 00:00

I have it in black- true to size. Wouldn't size up as the ruched skirt will be too big it think.you could try though.

SavoyCabbage · 31/12/2013 00:04

I've a size 10 in the ruched up one so I ordered a 10 in the double layer dress with the v neck and it was too small. In fact I got trapped inside it! I had to get my seven year old to pull it off.

Ordered the 12.

SavoyCabbage · 31/12/2013 00:06

It's the Jessica I was trapped in.

DIddled · 31/12/2013 00:10

That's cracked me up Savoy- the Jessica is a bit snug!!!! Ha ha- I have it in black size 12 but it's one for a slim day!!! I always get comments when I wear it though.

I'm thinking about the Carlisle zip tunic or Carlisle skater dress, anyone got either of these..?

OP posts:
DIddled · 02/01/2014 22:24

My Carlisle skater dress just arrived in Ink. Lovely thick quality - but far too short for a lady in her 40's!!! Quite snug too.Bonnington dress lovely but a bit long :(

Dancergirl · 02/01/2014 22:25

How tall are you diddled? Do you think I'll get away with it at 5'3"? Also early 40s but got good legs!

OP posts:
DIddled · 02/01/2014 22:33

Might be ok dancer- I am about 5 4 and a half. I'm not really comfortable with anything above the knee as I would want to wear a heel which would make it even shorter.

Dancergirl · 02/01/2014 23:09

Thanks, would you recommend sizing up?

OP posts:
DIddled · 02/01/2014 23:14

No- I am a 12 and buy a 12- but I have piled it on a bit due to lack of exercise/Xmas which is why it was snug. It's lovely and thick- I'd order and see what you think.

Dancergirl · 02/01/2014 23:45

I sometimes find things tight on the bust (DD/E cup). Maybe I'll try a 12 and a 14....

I meant to order the Josephine dress yesterday, but forgot, and now it's £10 cheaper - result!

I've ordered the 10 and the 12 as I'm really not sure which will work best. I'm a 10 on the bottom, but nearer 12 on the top, and carrying a bit of Christmas podge which WILL be going. I should be tall enough (5' 7").

Queenofknickers · 03/01/2014 13:52

Tiny IMO - order up

CointreauVersial · 09/01/2014 22:10

Update: the Josephine dresses arrived, and the 10 was a much better fit than the 12. A keeper!

My backside didn't really fill the skirt of the 12, so it was all weird and pouchy at the front.

I might need some sort of control undies, though. The skirt is quite unforgiving.

DIddled · 09/01/2014 22:18

I thought the 10 would be ok from what you said (jealous)! Funny enough I have just got mine out yo wear for work tomorrow!!! Really sad the Carlisle was so short as the purple colour was lovely, I have packed away to send back.
