My Merrell Oslos have worn through at the heel despite only being a year old (I have worn them A LOT though), am thinking of trying something else rather than a straight swap. Must be:

  • Calf length
  • Waterproof
  • Toasty
  • Comfy to drive in so not too stiff/bulky
  • Flat
  • Zip or pull on, not laced
  • Nice grippy soles
  • Preferably less than £100 in the sales!

Ideas welcome please :)

I bought some Merrell Decora Chant boots before Xmas and I'm thrilled with them. I've never had such a toasty pair of boots and they look great with skinnies. They are much better looking IRL - I was a bit dubious when I ordered them.

I paid £113 but lots of places are now selling for £100 & under.

Aqua Italia boots, sold in UK by Russell and Bromley, are warm, waterproof and beautiful!

Thanks. V tempted by the Decora Chants!

I got the Merrell Decora Chants before Christmas and live in them. They are the first 'sensible' boots I have ever owned (recently moved out of London) and I was a bit horrified I needed something like that and ordered five different pairs to try (inc Barbour and Timberland) and thought I would hate them all, but the Merrells were much nicer IRL, and hit the calf at a very flattering length. So warm and comfy too. Easily the nicest I tried on.

Rieker eike. Similar to merrel ones but last ages. I have walked miles in my old pair over the past couple of years and bought some new ones because they have been so fab.
